Okay, I wonder.... Since I like the Kalashtar, I wonder how it would be adaptable it for a non-Eberron world, a more classical Great Wheel universe (and/or Forgotten Realms). Any suggestion, tip on how to fit, link their 'united alien spirit/entity + human being' with a more classical cosmoslogy?

Where would their original spirits come - the Astral Plane, another Outer Plane, Far Realm, etc... and all? Are there something who could be used for the Quori, or where the Quori could came from?

Any ideas?

The Demiplane of Nightmares might be a good location for the Quori to come from. I believe it was briefly mentioned in Dragon 327 a while back in relation to the Diabolus (As their home plane). It's roughly the same size as a world on the prime material, and borders the Demiplane of Dreams and the Far Realm.

Just use the Region of Dreams. In the Great Wheel cosmology, it's located in the Ethereal Plane, sort of (within the curtains of vaporous color).

Wouldn't that be in the Astral? the Etheral is more raw matter, where Astral is raw mind.....

No. The Ethereal is where things come into being - dreams, matter, demiplanes. It's the birth of all the different levels of reality, from the faintest ideas to entire worlds: all possibilities. Dreamers, while dreaming, exist in the Ethereal Plane, which is why night hags travel there to hunt. Things in the Ethereal Plane are real, or in the process of becoming real, and dreams are no exception to this.

The Astral's where thoughts, dreams, memories, magic, githyanki, souls, faiths, and gods go to die. A dream once dreamed becomes part of the thoughtwinds of the Astral void, there to fly forever in the silver void. It's no longer a living dream then, no longer as real as before. The dreams of the Astral are like the dead gods of the astral, only on a smaller scale, manifesting as ectoplasm rather than earth. Nothing is born on the Astral Plane, not even dreams; timeless, nothing can truly come into existence on that plane, just as nothing ever really goes away. It slowly blows through the void, eternally fading, never vanishing entirely.

Just a note - it's the 3rd edition default form of the Great Wheel there that you refers things from, or the classic Planescape/2ed one? Because I tend to use by default the old one.

The Ethereal and Astral planes haven't changed much between the editions (Though the latter has become far less important). The Region of Dreams is discussed in the Manual of the Planes, and how to fit it in.

The Planescape one, of course. But I assume they're the same unless it's specifically mentioned they're not.

My source is A Guide to the Ethereal Plane. The Ravenloft Nightmare Lands boxed set is an even better source.

Thank you, then. I should look at it.

The Region of Dreams isn't quite in the core cosmology, but was designed to be easily dropped into it. That's probably the easiest way to have a place for the quori to come from: it's not Dal Quor, but it's fairly close. The Dreaming Dark could be somewhere in the Dreamheart.

In 2e, the ethereal exists on the inner planes and the astral exists on the outer planes.

In 3e, it was changed so both the ethereal and astral exist are accessible to the inner and outer planes. At least that's what i'm getting from the color pools and curtains.

I prefer the 2e version, as it doesn't make the two substitues for one another.
