Any info is appreciated.

08-08-07, 09:24 PM Kardum was the greatest general of the Abyssal lord Antisif the Befouler. Kardum betrayed Antisif and imprisoned him within the Wells of Darkness, taking over his layer.

Kardum is basically an advanced balor, and considers himself to be the king of the balor race.

08-08-07, 09:25 PM Before Kardum rose to Abyssal Lord status, as a balor he served as a general for the forces of Antisef the Befouler. In the aftermath of a temporary alliance of Abyssal Lords including Antisef that gathered to hunt down and destroy an obyrith lord named the Malgoth, Kardum betrayed his weakened master and imprisoned him in the Wells of Darkness.

Originally claimed by Antisef, Kardum now controls layer 21 of the Abyss, the 6th Pyre.

Canon aside, I'd also make Kardum an enemy of Alzrius the Lord of Infernal Light, as they both share a flame motif.

08-08-07, 10:40 PM I should add that Kardum is an anagram for Marduk, who appeared in Erik Mona's "A Note on Demons" originally published on his website long ago:

MARDUK: Very little is known about this being, save that he is said to be "King of Fire Demons," suggesting that he is possibly an ascended Balor. There is definitely a benevolent god of the same name who makes his home in the Outer Planes, and these two are definitely as different in demeanor as is possible. He wields the awesome Firefan, which is counted among the most powerful of Abyssal artifacts (and is likely closely tied to his rapid progress through the ranks, so to speak).

Of all the monarchs, Marduk is the least involved in the affairs of the Flanaess, though sailors tales suggest the worship of a powerful "fire demon" among the Wuga tribesmen, south of Hitaxia far to the southwest. As that land is as unknown to us in Nellix as is the Abyss, I will deal with such tales in the future as time and exploration allow.
