| HILANDER_179304-19-07, 05:36 PM | Anyone know of any good Minotar dieties, prefferably with accent to the sea and or sailing within Forgotton Realms? |
| The Ubbergeek04-19-07, 06:26 PM | Minautors usually only worships dark beings, like the demon prince Baphomet or dark gods... |
| Gray Richardson04-19-07, 09:12 PM | Minotaurs speak giant, are loosely affiliated with giant culture and are likely to worship giant deities. There are 4 giant gods that are good-aligned: Hiatea, Iallanis, Diancastra, and Stronmaus (although, In the Forgotten Realms, Diancastra is an alias of Mask). Of those 4, Stronmaus might be the best choice for you. He has the portfolios of sun, sky, weather, and joy. He would certainly protect sailors from storms and bad weather and sends good winds and clear skies. He might even have some dominion over navigation by sun and sky. The other good giant deities have the following portfolios: Hiatea: nature, agriculture, hunting, females, children Iallanis: love, mercy, beauty Diancastra: trickery, wit, impudence, pleasure |

| Warforged Goblin04-20-07, 08:38 AM | In Tome of Magic there's a minotaur vestige who spawned the race. Her name escapes me at this point however. |

And Poseidon, God of the Sea, certainly plays a key part in their origin as well. Perhaps a similar myth adapted to a sea god in FR would work? |

| Darth Syntax04-20-07, 01:10 PM | In Tome of Magic there's a minotaur vestige who spawned the race. Her name escapes me at this point however. Haagenti is the name of said vestage. -- Drawing from the Greek myths, Posidon does make some sense as it was he who sent the magnificent white bull that was the minotaur's father. However, solar dieties would also make sense given the assotiation between Minos and the sun. Going out on a conceptual limb here, I might suggest a diety like Janus, the Roman god of doors. |
| ripvanwormer04-23-07, 08:10 PM | In Tome of Magic there's a minotaur vestige who spawned the race. Her name escapes me at this point however. Haagenti, who mothered the first minotaurs with Thrym, the frost giant god. So Thrym is as much the ancestor of the minotaurs as Haagenti is. It was Thrym who cursed Haagenti and her sons into their bull-like form. For this reason, minotaurs may be reluctant to worship Thrym (he doesn't like them very much), but if they have any god other than Baphomet, it's him. |
| crimsonwolf04-25-07, 01:38 AM | fr wise not much .... now what your describing almost sounds perfectly like a Dragonlance race version which is treated alot more intellgent then the beasts of core. Sargonass is a good one to be. Major thing is just general warfare nutrual . |
