This is a question based purely on opinion, considering there are no rules for things like this.

Moradin Scholars:
Thinking like average followers of Moradin (Dwarves), what do you think their opinion would be on the resurrection of fallen dwarven comrades? Specifically ones who fall doing what dwarves are made for: fighting against a large enemy with good steel between their stubby fingers. Would they frown upon it considering he had a good, heroic death? Or do you think they wouldn't be influenced any particular way?

My opinion of Moradin has always reminded me of Norse gods. You die in battle, everyone drinks to your glorious death, and people talk of how valiantly you shuffled this mortal coil. Resurrection would somehow seem taboo to me.

Once again, I'm just asking for your opinion, so be as creative as you'd like, and feel free to write a dissertation or two on the subject.

If the dwarf is needed at the very moment to hold the fort, so to speak, then I think it would be more acceptable. I suspect that as you say clerics of Moradin aren't going to raise the dead unless there is a pressing need.

Well, as a fellow Dwarven God, I took Moradin's place in our world, here is my two coppers. Raising the dead doesn't sound too good to me, why not try using Dwarf Ancestors from the Monster Manual 4. They are technically outsiders who possess the form of large sculptures of Dwarven warriors- outsiders whose souls are that of great Dwarf heroes. Moradin selects only the most worthy candidates to become Dwarf Ancestors, and returns them to the realms of the living only to serve some great purpose. The entry says that according to some legends, Moradin himself once took on this form to battle the enemies of his mortal progeny. If Moradin can do it, I'm pretty sure he's ok with his clerics using them.

In general, it seems that dwarves and their gods don't really mind dead dwarves finishing their jobs. They have a bunch of ways that dead dwarves come back to help out (ancestral weapons, ancestor statues, etc.) and so it's a pretty common theme. For that reason, I don't think the gods would mind if the PCs wanted a dwarf to come back: chances are that PC is not 'done' yet, no matter how valiant the death.
