| TimelordSimone11-05-07, 04:54 PM | Hey. This pantheon is starting to get somewhere towards a usable standard. There are, in all, 4 levels of Gods. I'm just gonna start off with the first two, as the others aren't as near completion. First Things First: In the beginning, 'Gaia' (for lack of a more original name at the moment) came to the material plane. She gave birth to quadruplets, who helped her create the foundations of the world. She then had many more children, who created the details. The quadruplets are the elemental lords. The rest make up the deific council (which could also do with a better name). The elemental lords are as follows: (and lack detail at the moment) Bolum Lord of Water Neutral Good Domains: Good, Ocean, Water Favoured Weapon: Net Milon Lady of Earth Lawful Neutral Domains: Cavern, Earth, Law Favoured Weapon: Quarterstaff Marquon Lord of Fire Neutral Evil Domains: Destruction, Evil, Fire Favoured Weapon: Spiked Chain Dragoa Lady of Air Chaotic Neutral Domains: Air, Chaos, Storm Favoured Weapon: Whip The Elemental Lords are very distant gods, and hardly ever intefere with the material plane. Their temples are usually in remote geographic locations that suit their god's element (Volcanoes, caverns, lakes, that sort of thing). |
| TimelordSimone11-05-07, 04:54 PM | The Deific Council (who need a better name) The rest of 'Gaias' children formed the deific council, so that they might take care of the material plane more effectively. (Gaia left after creation, and the Elemental Lords don't get involved). I'm gonna list their birth order, then go into more detail. Birth Order: Bia (magic) Orthus (nature) Moros & Ozys (death & life) Orolan (elder sun) Galmia & Brint (moons) Carobus (younger sun) Sondheim & Rattajack (fates) Obviosuly, appering together indicates twins. The council has experienced a couple of changes since creation... Rattajack fell in love with a mortal woman, and was then unable to control fate with detachment. Eventually, when she died, he went insane, and is now a god of luck. (Basically, he twists fate). Sondheim, put under a lot of stress by her brother's actions, eventually gave up her divinity, granting it to five young girls, known as the Naias. They are now goddesses of fate while Sondheim (now at Divine Rank 0, having been unable to completely give up her divinity) lives a stress free life, at some unknown location. No doubt she travels. I would if I were immortal... So now, the Deific Council is as follows: Bia High Mage of the Gods True Neutral Symbol: Black Star on a Blue Circle Domains: Knowledge, Magic, Spell Favoured Weapon: Quarterstaff In essence, she's basically Boccob, but with one different domain. Orthus Duke of the Wilderness True Neutral Symbol: a Branch bearing Fruit Domains: Animal, Plant, Protection Favoured Weapon: Quarterstaff Yeah... basically Obad-Hai... I've specifically noted that Orthus has no compassion for the sentient races. In general anyway, specific people (ie - his followers) he likes. Moros Minister of Death Lawful Neutral Symbol: Black and White Scales Domains: Death, Destruction, Law Favoured Weapon: Scythe Moros is the deity of death. He guides the souls of the dead to their proper resting places. He is a solemn and contemplative deity, and is neither malign nor secretive. He is kind, even if occasionally stern. The Church of Moros assists the dying, the dead, and the bereaved. His clerics pray for their spells at dusk. They turn undead. Ozys Chaplain of Life Chaotic Neutral Symbol: Flower Bud Domains: Chaos, Creation, Healing Favoured Weapon: Sickle An exuberant and carefree deity, Ozys governs all matters of life, birth, and resurrection. He is responsible for the birth and growth of most every living thing on the material plane. The church of Ozys aid farmers’ crops, deliver babies and the like. They also preach the importance of living for the now, as life is short. Clerics of Ozys pray for spells at dawn. Orolan & Carobus Masters of Day True Neutral Symbol: Small Yellow Sun inside a Large Orange Sun Domains: Healing, Renewal, Sun Favoured Weapon: Morningstar They have a large number of worshippers, despite not promoting any specific agenda. Their church is the most widespread among the civilized above-ground races, usually acting as the cornerstone of society. Their Clerics pray for spells at either dawn or noon. Galmia & Brint Mistresses of Night True Neutral Symbol: A Circle, one half Blue, one half White Domains: Cold, Illusion, Moon Favoured Weapon: Mace Many of the nocturnal sentient races worship them. Like Orolan and Carobus, they promote no agenda, but again, have a large number of worshippers. Their clerics pray for spells at dusk or midnight. The Naias Weavers of Fate Lawful Neutral Symbol: Five Vertical Lines over a Brown Square Domains: Fate, Law, Planning Favoured Weapon: Crossbow They concern themselves with the destinies of all sentient beings. They generally keep to themselves, speaking to no deities outside the council. The church of the Naias has 5 sects, each devoted to one of the 5 sisters. They each concern themselves with different aspects of a person’s fate (heart, mind, blood, soul, body), but mesh occasionally. Many of their clergy are wizards. They pray for spells at any time of day. And, although he left... Rattajack Lord Luck Chaotic Neutral Symbol: a Black Rabbit Domains: Chaos, Luck, Madness Favoured Weapon: Dagger Rattajack’s church opposes the Naias completely. They believe that people should make their own fate. Some of his clerics go mad during their initiation. Many of their churches double as gambling houses. His clerics pray at any time of day. That's it for now folks. Later, you'll either get more details here, or more gods... |
| TimelordSimone11-05-07, 04:55 PM | Dragon God #1 Needs a name Lawful Good Symbol: ... Domains: Good, Law, Scalykind Favoured Weapon: ... Dragon God #2 Needs a name Chaotic Evil Symbol: ... Domains: Chaos, Destruction, Evil, Scalykind Favoured Weapon: ... Tatiana Queen of the Forest Neutral Good Symbol: crossed Arrows behind a Tree Domains: Good, Magic, Retribution, War Favoured Weapon: Longbow Daughter of Orthus and Bia, Tatiana is goddess of the Arts, and creator of the elves (although she actually merely 'altered' the original elves, making them into the beings they are today). She encourages her followers to pursue any of the arts; music, sculpture, even magic and warfare. She possesses a short temper however, levelling an entire forest when Uthgar stole her longsword. Tatiana's clergy are usually elves, though other races perform her work occasionally. Her church is comprised mostly of druids, and the clerics she does have usually multisclass as wizards, bards or fighters. They pray for spells at dusk. Thorin The Great Father Lawful Neutral Symbol: a Black Volcano on a Red Pentagon Domains: Artifice, Earth, Fire, Law Favoured Weapon: Warhammer Thorin, the Son of Marquon and Milon, is the God of volcanoes, metalworking, stonemasonry, and the creator of the dwarves. He forged the dwarves from the fires of the earth (much to the chagrin of Tatiana, who didn't truly 'create' the elves). He teaches his followers to defend themselves to the best of their ability, but does not advocate attacking others. Many of his temples double as fortresses. Thorin has very few non-dwarf clerics, and he rarely calls paladins at all. That said, craftsmen of all races offer praise to him. His clerics pray at noon. Javinia Matriarch Lawful Good Symbol: a Pair of Hands cupping a House Domains: Family, Good, Law, Protection Favoured Weapon: Greatsword Okay, Javinia needs work. I can't even remember who her parents are or anthing. I shall find my notes on her eventually. I remember that she has a lot of paladins, but that's it. Tempus Wayfarer He Who Walks The Worlds Chaotic Good Symbol: A Twelve Handed Clock Domains: Chaos, Good, Time, Travel Favoured Weapon: Gnome hooked hammer Son of Sondheim and Lord Psalibur, Tempus is a carefree god, who wanders the planes as his whims take him. The deific council granted him the gnome race in an attempt to teach him some responsibilty. However, Tempus seems to have had more of an affect on the gnomes than they have on him. Worshipped mostly by travellers and inventors, Tempus has only a few clerics devoted to him. They pray at dawn. Philomelus The Undecieved True Neutral Symbol: A Gold Coin with a Handsome Face on it Domains: Community, Glory, Nobility, Trade Favoured Weapon: Rapier Son of , Philomelus taught the humans to trade and barter. He is a god of merchants, traders, and the upper classes. He has no patience for those who accept the hand that life has dealt them, believing that people should always strive to better themselves and their standard of living. Philomelus is worshipped by many humans, especially merchants. His clerics pray at dawn. Arangast [I]Shadow Lord Lawful Evil Symbol: a White Web on a Black Shield. Domains: Darkness, Evil, Law, Spider Favoured Weapon: Pick Son of Bia and Moros (and therefore half-brother of Tatiana), Arangast is god of spiders, darkness, war, and the drow. After falling out with his mother and half-sister**, he took some the elves and led them underground, where he trained them and slowly twisted them into the drow. This mutual grudge continues to this day among the two races. Arangast has many clerics, and his church devote their efforts to fighting both the surface elves and the arcane, as their god has no love for either. They pray at midnight. Uthgar Big Boss Man Chaotic Evil Symbol: a Gaunlet holding a Tree Domains: Chaos, Competition, Evil, Strength Favoured Weapon: Longsword (often elven) Uthgar, the first ever mortal to ascend to deification, did so by successfully stealing Tatiana's longsword. He was the only living thing to survive the subsequent deforestation. He then became a shining example for the Orcs, leading them to the feared status they enjoy today. Uthgar's clerics often steal their weapons from elves, echoing their god's act. They lead their communities in times of peace and warfare. They pray at dawn. Lord Psalibur is the son of Galmia and Carobus. He vanished recently*, and Sir Arondight was chosen by the council to replace him. Sir Arondight Is yet to be titled Lawful Good Symbol: A Solar Eclipse Domains: Good, Law, Nobility, War Favoured Weapon: Longsword Sir Arondight is the newly appointed god of truth, justice, and war. A powerful human paladin, he was chosen to replace Lord Psalibur when he disappeared. His church is a bit muddled at the moment. He answers prayers directed to Lord Psalibur, so some people are unaware of their god's dissappearance. His clerics pray at noon. Jonquil is also yet to be titled True Neutral Symbol: A Black Mask on a White Circle Domains: Charm, Planning, Trickery Favoured Weapon: Rapier Original two mortal travelling companions, Jonathon the human rogue and Lyquil the elf bard ascended together after stealing [something] from [someone/thing/where], and fused into one being. As well as being a god of musicians, lovers and thieves, Jonquil cares for outcasts and half-breeds as well. His church is loosely organized at best. Many of his clergy are half-elves, and they pray at dusk. *recently meaning about two months. **The falling out I will explain in more detail later. |
| TimelordSimone11-05-07, 04:56 PM | PATRON SAINTS Okay then. In the world where this pantheon exists, each country has an ascended patron saint. They still live on the material plane, though more often than not, are hidden away until they are needed. They also usually stay in their own country, as they lose power the further away their worshippers are. The Island Nations of the Western Sea Esmerelda Patron Saint of [country name] Chaotic Neutral Symbol: A Horseshoe Domains: Chaos, Luck, Trickery Favoured Weapon: Shortsword Gnome Transmuter. Her country is and Island to the west of Anglia. St. Ascalon Patron Saint of Anglia Lawful Good Symbol: a White Cross on a Red Shield Domains: Good, Law, Protection Favoured Weapon: Lance Human Paladin. Sailing Jim (needs a real name) Patron Saint of the Isles of Skye Neutral Good Symbol: Domains: Good, Ocean, Travel Favoured Weapon: Trident Human Sailer. Skye is east of Anglia. The Central Nations of the Oubler Forest Finwe Patron Saint of Lagatia Chaotic Good Symbol: ...some sort of green triangle thing... Domains: Courage, Good, Luck Favoured Weapon: Shortbow Finwe (a wood elf) and Princess Luthien worked together to protect their lands from Gollancz, ascending when the three met in battle. Finwe and his loyal steed now ride through the forests of his homeland fighting evil, though he still clashes with Gollancz from time to time. The Oubler Forest covers most of Lagatia, and of the sentient races, forest gnomes, wood elves, and goblins are the most prevelant. Finwe's church function mostly as scouts, offering guidance to travellers. Some help in Princess Luthien's war against Gollancz. Finwe's clerics pray at dusk. Princess Luthien Patron Saint of Avelorn Lawful Good Symbol: ...some sort of blue triangle thing... Domains: Good, Knowledge, Protection Favoured Weapon: ... (she uses a magic flute, so...) Princess Luthien (a high elf) and Finwe worked together to protect their lands from Gollancz, ascending when the three met in battle. Luthien rarely appears in her true form now, usually disguising herself as a man called Shenk, leader of the shadow monks of Avelorn. Avelorn is directly to the east of Lagatia. The terrain is mainly plains and hills. High elves are the most common of the sentient races. Avelorn has a strong navy, which is used to fight the constant war with Eluut. Luthien has many clerics, but calls very few paladins. Her clerics pray at dawn. The Southern Nations of the Jeraw Desert Prince Edge Patron Saint of Eblan Lawful Neutral Symbol: Fire in the Pupil of an Eye Domains: Law, Protection, Retribution Favoured Weapon: ... Human Ninja (rogue/monk/illusionist). Eblan lies West of Araby. Lord Rubicante Patron Saint of Araby Neutral Evil Symbol: A Flaming Dagger Domains: Evil, Trickery, ... Favoured Weapon: Dagger Human Assasin. (Though, again, probably not the Assasin class.) Araby lies West of Eluut. Gollancz Patron Saint of Eluut Lawful Evil Symbol: An Eye in a Red Triangle Domains: Domination, Evil, Strength Favoured Weapon: Greatsword Gollancz (a devil of some form) became King of Eluut after the last Queen failed to produce an heir. He ascended when he met Finwe and Princess Luthien in battle. He continues to rule over Eluut with an iron fist, devoting most of his resources to his constant war with Avelorn. Eluut is covered mostly by the Jeraw desert, with steppe along the north and east borders. It lies south from Avelorn, across the sea. Gollancz is worshipped mostly out of fear, and most of his worshippers are martial or arcane classes. He only has a small divine following. His clerics pray at noon. The Eastern Nations of the Something Mountains Ormundan Patron Saint of Muscadet Lawful Neutral Symbol: ...probably changes... Domains: Ormundan grants different domains depending on the current season. Spring: Law, Water, Renewal Summer: Law, Sun, Liberation Autumn: Law, Air, Repose Winter: Law, Cold, Suffering His clerics do not get to choose their new domains when the season changes however. If they chose the Water domain in Spring for example, they would have the Sun domain in Summer, Air in Autumn, and Cold in Winter. Renewal, Liberation, Repose, and Suffering work in the same way. Favoured Weapon: ...also probably changes... Background info and stuff to appear here. I mean, he's a nature god. Just in case you hadn't realized. Ohm Patron Saint of Bervenia Lawful Evil Symbol: A Plain White Circle Domains: Charm, Evil, Knowledge Favoured Weapon: Dagger Ohm was a lowly serf, who loathed watching his parent's work themselves into an early grave, so he dedicated his life to bringing down the royal family. He travelled a lot, and unearthed a lot of information, including information an ascension. The ritual worked, although [something went wrong, like, he's stuck half on the ethereal plane or something]. He know lives among the people of Bervenia, changing his appearance, manipulating the people against the Queen. Bervenia lies east of Avelorn, and is covered mainly by farmland. The land is mostly flat, but the eastern side has some hills. Most people actually believe that Gallana (a celestial being who dates the Queen) is Patron Saint of Bervenia, and she actually has a larger church than Ohm (she works for Sir Arondight, and directs his divine power to her worshippers). Ohm's clerics pray at midnight. The Northern Nations of the Something Swamps Eck Patron Saint of Lorokia Chaotic Evil Symbol: ... Domains: Chaos, Pestilence, Suffering Favoured Weapon: ... A sickly half-orc, Eck trained hard as a ranger, and took a perverse joy in spreading disease. [He then ascended somehow] and now stalks his homelands, spreading illness and plague in his wake. Eck's church mostly lurk in the swamplands, spreading illness as their god does. Most people in the country offer prayers to him out of fear, as do travellers. His clerics pray at noon. That's all for now. |
| Tovec11-05-07, 11:11 PM | You have no good or evil deities. They are mostly True Neutral. Other then that the rest seems good, the names are easy to say. Their descriptions are short but explain a lot. I don't know what else there is to say. Its a good start but I think it needs more information overall. It seems that although the main aspects of a pantheon are addressed there is very little concern for the actual mortals. How do you explain multiple races? Dragons? Healing/Death are also important in a hierarchy. There is no god of war, or animals (outside of just nature) or for any class or race(already stated) or beliefs outside their "job". |

Healing/Death are also important in a hierarchy. There is no god of war, or animals (outside of just nature) or for any class or race(already stated) or beliefs outside their "job". Thanks. :D And, as you can see, I've added a fewe gods, and more are to be added when I get round to it. (I still have a load of evil gods, both dragon gods, the theif god, the paladin god, and then a whole load of patron saints to get through.) I'll explain the saints later. :D |
| Tovec11-06-07, 10:30 PM | Okay, the Dragon Gods still need some work, so they aren't getting posted yet, but, in the meantime, We'll make a start on the next generation of deities. Tatiana The Queen of the Forest Chaotic Good Symbol: ... Domains: Chaos, Good, Magic, Retribution, War Favoured Weapon: Longbow Daughter of Orthus and Bia, Tatiana is goddess of the Arts, and creator of the elves (although she actually merely 'altered' the original elves, making them into the beings they are today). Um, I like that she is a god of war and uses a longbow. A couple of minor things. Where did elves come from if not from her? How are they altered? Why would the god of forests level a forest for theft of a sword? Another thing is that most people who worship their gods (for spells especially) worship at the same alignment but you said that most of her clergy are druids. Druids have to be Neutral on at least 1 axis. So the closest they can get is CN and NG to this CG goddess. A note on some of the other deities. The dwarven standard deity is LG, not LN, I didn't know if that was an oversight or not. Gnomes are now CN instead of NG? I have found that in most interpretations that gnomes are Lawful more often then chaos. Indeed I think that Garl was LG until he pulled that off-colour trick on Kultlamak(sp?) and he changed to NG, or maybe I'm mixing up my mythologies. Are there drow? What other races are common in your world? Is there a god of humans? What about monsters, do they have gods/creators? You still need more goods I think, right now you only have a couple and more N's were added. I'm interested in your evils, what level of evil you were planning? |
| TimelordSimone11-07-07, 03:57 PM | Um, I like that she is a god of war and uses a longbow. A couple of minor things. Where did elves come from if not from her?How are they altered? Urm... Somewhere else. I'm working on it. :D Why would the god of forests level a forest for theft of a sword? Because she has a short temper. It was a nice sword. Haha, again, the specific details of the story need working on. Another thing is that most people who worship their gods (for spells especially) worship at the same alignment but you said that most of her clergy are druids. Druids have to be Neutral on at least 1 axis. So the closest they can get is CN and NG to this CG goddess. That I had not thought of. I may have to rethink that a bit... She is now NG A note on some of the other deities. Kurtulmak. I think. Possibly Kurtalmak. Anyway... The neutrality of Thorin is intentional. He's more a sort of... St. Cuthbert-esque figure, despite being a dwarf god of the forge. Tempus is CN for the free-spirited traveller thing. In this world, gnomes sort of take up the gypsy role from the halflings. However, I may switch Tempus to CG... Done. He's CG now Are there drow? What other races are common in your world? Is there a god of humans? What about monsters, do they have gods/creators? You still need more goods I think, right now you only have a couple and more N's were added. I'm interested in your evils, what level of evil you were planning? There are drow. They have a six-armed spider god dude. Philomelus is intended as God of Humans. Which will probably come across better when I type him up properly. There are also gods for... Orcs, Goblins, Kobolds, Metallic and Chromatic Dragons. There are also still the Paladin and Thief gods. And then I have about 20ish Patron Saints. Thanks for your feedback! :D I shall work on the origins of the different races. |
| Talisman11-07-07, 09:37 PM | Looks qute good. I like the fact that there's a coherent myhology behind this not just the Slot Machine Pantheon. Double kudos for using names that can actually be pronounced instead of "Zyxshaamlethiq, God of Magic (Evocation [Fire {Ranged Touch Only}]). Some random suggestions... Tatiana Queen of the Forest Neutral Good Symbol: ... Domains: Good, Magic, Retribution, War Favoured Weapon: Longbow Symbol could be: an ivy-covered longbow, a tree with a swordblade for a trunk, a sword superimposed upon a tree, a tree superimposed upon crossed arrows. Javinia Matriarch Lawful Good Symbol: ... Domains: Family, Good, Law, Protection Favoured Weapon: Greatsword Symbol could be a house, a hearth, crossed swords, hands cupping a house, a horizontal greatsword (in "guard" position), a scroll of law. Philomelus True Neutral Symbol: A Gold Coin with a Handsome Face on it Domains: Community, Glory, Nobility, Trade Favoured Weapon: Rapier Title could be Goldenhands, the Father of Trade, the Great Merchant, the Undecieved. Arangast [I]Shadow Lord Lawful Evil Symbol: ... something to do with spiders I should think. Domains: Darkness, Evil, Law, Spider Favoured Weapon: ... Symbol could be a spider with a dagger in each "hand," a shield with a web-pattern, a shield with eight swordblades protruding from behind it (in spider-leg fashion), an iron spider, or a jet-black dagger. Favored Weapon could be a dagger (sneakiness), a flail, whip, spiked chain or even net (entangling spider webs), a scimitar, rapier or kukri (strike deep), or a pick (subterranean + x4 crit multiplier + unusual for the drow) Uthgar Big Boss Man Chaotic Evil Symbol: ...something to goad elves... Domains: Chaos, Evil, Strength, ... Favoured Weapon: Longsword (often elven) Symbol could be an elven sword grasped by an iron (human) gauntlet, a flaming tree, a broken tree with a sword stuck in it, a sword cleaving a lowgbow, or a cartoon picture of a human punching an elf :D |
| TimelordSimone11-08-07, 07:43 AM | Various suggestions Thanks! I used quite a few of those. Added some symbols, favoured weapons, mentioned that Uthgar had anything to do with orcs (don't know how I missed that). Thanks for the compliments as well. :D |
| Tovec11-09-07, 12:57 PM | Looks like things are really coming along. May I suggest that the god of drow also be a god of war? Kind of like Hextor against Heironeous, its a duality in many pantheons that there are two gods of war, both doing it their own way. I like that the god of orcs is an ascended being (is he an orc?) but it seems like his only claim to godhood is stealing a sword and getting caught. If he got away maybe, how did he ascend once he died, in fact how did he ascend at all? I like your evil gods, so far they are evil but not not cackling evil. They are evil because it makes sense for them to be evil, they aren't evil because all orcs are evil and because they Have to be evil. If you know what I mean. I think I've given all the input I can really, except for suggesting a couple other aspects that might need to be filled. I'll still check in with minor critiques but I think you have more or less finished your pantheon as far as you need it. Gods of: Water creatures, the elements, the a-typical good and evil gods. Did you do the god of thieves that was promised? |
| TimelordSimone11-09-07, 05:27 PM | Looks like things are really coming along. May I suggest that the god of drow also be a god of war? Kind of like Hextor against Heironeous, its a duality in many pantheons that there are two gods of war, both doing it their own way. Added. It fits really well. Thanks. I like that the god of orcs is an ascended being (is he an orc?) but it seems like his only claim to godhood is stealing a sword and getting caught. If he got away maybe, how did he ascend once he died, in fact how did he ascend at all? As it stands at the moment, the first step of ascension is death. You become powerful, die, and 'Gaia' ascends you. If you deserve it. I'm considering changing it, and making each personal ascension a bit more unique. And yes he is an orc. I'm currently trying to figure out how to explicitly state that in his description... I like your evil gods, so far they are evil but not not cackling evil. | TimelordSimone11-12-07, 03:38 PM | I've added 3 Patron Saints. Finwe, Princess Luthien, and Gollancz. |
| TimelordSimone11-18-07, 02:10 PM | Added two Patron Saints: Ohm and Ormundan. Edited Uthgar's ascension. The sword had some divine spark in it. Edited Jonquil. He's now god of musicians rather than music. He's a people person. Edited Finwe, Princess Luthien, and Gollancz. They now each possessed a shard of some ancient power which caused them to ascend when the three of them came together. I think that's all for now. Oh, and I've officially decided that ascension does NOT involve death. Cos unique stories are cooler. Though harder to think up... |
| Alter_Boy11-18-07, 07:45 PM | I like it. Mostly because there's a clear line of ascension. But where do demons and Cthulu fit in? |
| TimelordSimone12-02-07, 03:16 PM | I like it. Mostly because there's a clear line of ascension. But where do demons and Cthulu fit in? I think demons and devils work mostly deity-less. Also, I've made a few minor changes. Uthgar has the Competition domain. Gollancz has the Domination domain. Finwe now has the Courage domain in place of Chaos. Also, bump. :D |
| TimelordSimone12-03-07, 03:59 PM | Added Eck. |
| TimelordSimone12-17-07, 06:49 PM | Added a few more Saints (basic details). Added some favoured weapons and symbols. Also, :bump: |
| eoin6212-19-07, 12:11 AM | Nice Pantheon, a little large for my taste. I do like that it is fairly linear and well laid out. In particular, I like the idea of patron saints and ascension, though I might suggest shortening the title to just 'patron.' Saints implies goodness in my mind, but that may just be the remants of elementary school with nuns. One question about patron saints: do they have established churches and clergy? Do they grant spells? Or are they more like revered heroes who grant occasional prayers from worshipers in thier home country? |
| TimelordSimone12-21-07, 12:00 PM | One question about patron saints: do they have established churches and clergy? Do they grant spells? Or are they more like revered heroes who grant occasional prayers from worshipers in thier home country? Yes they grant spells. How established their churches are varies. For example, Princess Luthien, Finwe, and Gollancz are engaged in a divine war, and so the three countries have a large religious focus. On the other hand, Eck has very few specific worshippers, so his church is sporadic at best. He recieves prayers from most people travelling through his country though, but that's more fear than anything else. Also, it is a bit large, yes. Listing all the gods would be about DC20 or something. And even then, you probably wouldn't get Ohm. |
