The history of the Zhuddists is one of persecution, due to their frequent use of undead in their rites, they were banished from the land of Tericksor, and the Zhuddists boarded their ships and sailed for 16 months until they came to Alacaron, a land of elves, orcs, gnomes, and Halflings. Zhudd appears as a lich so old he is nothing but a skeleton with glowing green fire floating through his chest and eye sockets. Zhuddist religion focuses on the three major steps that a worshipper walks. The first is life, when a Zhuddist must devote himself to the cleansing and purifying of his soul. The second is death; Zhuudist death rites are famous for being long and complex, and ending in the last and final stage. Undeath, the final glory, nothing is better for a Zhuddist then becoming a zombie, ghoul, ghast, wight, or (if they are a high ranking official) a Lich, vampire, or demilich. Zhuud’s quests often involve strengthening their power base through the collection of magical artifacts, lost magic or new methods of undead creation. The church of Zhuud is ruled by three powerful undead, the Mouth of Zhuud (LN female Vampire Wiz 5/Clr 5/Mystic Theurge 8), the Hand of Zhuud (LN Male Lich Wizard 19), and the Heart of Zhuud (CE Death Drinker Demon). |
