I'm working on Orcus for my world and I was wondering how to incorporate this into his abilities. Or should I just use it as fluff text.

I would like to hear anyone's opinion on this.

It's all fluff now. The gods have taken away the power of the Last Word.

You could say that Tenebrous used the Last Word to destroy his undead form, and then True Resurrection was used to bring Orcus back to life.

for the purposes of your game, perhaps Orcus retains the knowledge of the Last Word and it can be used as an Extraordinary ability with similar effects as a Destruction spell.

While Orcus no longer has access to the full power of the Last Word -his death and return to life, not any gods, being the reason for that- he still retains some fragment of its power. This was described in the Savage Tide adventure path in the final issue of Dungeon magazine.

The less powerful version of the Last Word acts like an incredibly powerful powerword kill, more or less, with the potential for backlash on Orcus himself and so he's incredibly loathe to use it. Of course, nobody else knows its limits, so it's wonderful as an unused tool of intimidation. Of specific note however, the Last Word no longer has the capability to destroy planar lords (archfiends etc) or deities.

hmm...so should i make into a power word kill-like ability with a hp limit of 350? and there's a 50% percent chance, he could be harmed or weakened.

Actually it was in the next to last Dungeon, not the final one. And it's a will save or die to a single target who can hear it (distance not a factor), with a rebound of sorts if they make the save. No hitpoint limit, but the caveat that demon lords, archfiends, gods, etc are immune.

More like a supernatural destruction than power word kill.

Fafnir, my alternate Tenebrous had the following ability. If I gave an ability to Orcus, I would tone it down, to represent that lessened power Shemmy is talking about.

Last Word (Cs): This mighty power word slays any creature it is spoken to, unless they succeed on both a Fortitude and Will save (DC 62). Those that succeed lose 20d4 levels (as if they had failed a save to remove a negative level) and suffer 5d4 points of Charisma and Constitution drain, any of which may slay them anyways. The Last Word is more primal than magic and godhood, and cannot be resisted or undone with any spell effect, immunity or divine power. Using the Last Word deals Tenebrous 1d6 points of Charisma drain and inflicts 2d4 negative levels on him. The Fortitude save DC for him to resist permanent level loss is 42.

I'd use it as an innate supernatural ability - and as a swift action. No distance on the range - as long as it is 'heard' - and that could be used telepathically also. As "Orcus" the power is lessen - so it can no longer affect divine beings, or even demon lords, arch-fiends, unique beings of "epic" status. But against the average demon, devil, mortal - still look out. The power just 'slays' them because they can't resist its primal magic. No saves - just "your dead" - because as the "last word" you either have the power to resist it, or not... there is nothing in between. Also as "Orcus" I'd have it limited to use of perhaps once per full moon (1/month), so he'd be loath to use it frequently to just kill other lesser demons or undead that upset him that day. That's my take on it.
