| Zalakhiel04-25-07, 03:03 PM | I am trying to create two DvR 28 overgods for my cosmology, one called Zalakhiel, whose portfolio includes fate and darkness, and one called Pyriel, whose portfolio includes light and eternity. I am trying to give them some unique SDA that only Overgods would ever have a chance of obtaining. For example, Zalakhiel has the SDA Cosmic Blast, which he can use at will as a free action (counting against his total of 50 free actions per round). This is effectively a Mass Divine Blast, but the limitations of range and targets is that it can strike once every creature of up to all of existence in one single plane, while Pyriel has Cosmic Shield which stops 12 points of damage for every DvR and Charisma modifier he has, and he can use it as frequently as Zalakhiel uses his Cosmic Blast, but can extend it to cover up to one whole plane of existence. Any other suggestions of what to give to these guys? Their abilities are Str 100, Dex 70, Con 80, Int 70, Wis 80, Cha 90. Feel free to throw just about anything (though with good explanation). I`ve really tried to put my heart and soul in creating these two, as they are exact opposites, the two sides of a coin. And if you wish to know, their stats were calculated via a method mentioned in Dicefreaks (Witch, thank you for the link! :)) |

| Upper_Krust04-25-07, 06:32 PM | Hey Zalakhiel! :) I usually don't blow my own trumpet but it does in this case seem exactly what you are looking for. I have over 100 new epic feats, over 200 new divine abilities, over 100 cosmic abilities, over 50 transcendental abilities and 24 omnific abilities detailed in the Immortals Handbook: Ascension. At the moment I am sitting on the finished text of the book with just the art to be completed it should be available in pdf format soonish (hopefully no later than the end of May - but I have been wrong about release dates in the past*). * :embarrass Each divine ability is worth 6 epic feats, each cosmic ability is worth 6 divine abilities, each transcendental ability is worth 6 cosmic and so forth. |
| Zalakhiel04-26-07, 04:27 AM | Thank you Upper_Krust, I am completely aware of your work, though I am in dire need of immediate aid, that is why I am asking for help so urgently. Everyone, please, forgive my tardiness. I am by no means trying to force you to do my bidding. I am simply asking for one or two unique traits for these Overgods, that is all. The main body is almost complete, and since they have access to almost any non-Overgod SDA, there is little to worry about it. But they, who control fate and darkness, light and eternity, and do not consider the fact of granting and depriving others of divinity to be an issue of importance, should have the flavor required to be special, and very similar at the same time. Finally, I wish to say that I am grateful to you who answered me, and to you who gave the issue even the slightest thought. |
| Witch04-26-07, 01:07 PM | How about a SDA that allows one to cover an entire plane in darkness, extinguishing all light sources, and also considering all spells with the [Light] descriptor limited (as with Limited Magic)? |
| Zalakhiel04-26-07, 04:12 PM | That is quite a very interesting one, indeed. Thank you for the tip. I have also thought of one called Sin Harvester, in which the Overgod chooses particular individuals of up to its DvR times its HD as a free action, and if they have commited even the slightest bit of a sin in their lives, they die, their souls completely eradicated forever. Even Deities of up to DvR 20 are affected. There is no saving throw, unless an individual possesses at least one Exalted feat, in which case he recieves a Fortitude saving throw (DC = 20 + 2*DvR + Charisma modifier) to survive (A natural 20 is not an automatic success in this). For every Exalted feat the character has beyond the first, he gains a cumulative +1 bonus on this saving throw. Success renders the individual immune to this effect for one day. |
| DreadArchon04-26-07, 06:17 PM | How about (just making this up, mind you) "Divine Dominion: All spells cast by this deity (which is, presumably, all spells) have infinite range, may affect any number of targets, never miss, and allow no saves. They also function in antimagic fields and similar effects, and they may not be dispelled. Spell factors which increase by level have no cap for this character." That would cover most things that a deity would want to do. |
| Upper_Krust04-27-07, 08:32 AM | Hey Zalakhiel! :) Apologies for the slow reply, wizards boards were down yesterday morning and I was busy the rest of the day. Thank you Upper_Krust, I am completely aware of your work, :) though I am in dire need of immediate aid, that is why I am asking for help so urgently. Okay. Darkness Alone in the Dark (Cosmic): You can only be affected by the first attacker each round. Eclipse [Ability Score] (Cosmic): Add one opponent's [choose one ability score] to your own. Eternity (Time) Slipstream (Cosmic): You are immune to temporal effects and cannot be undermined by time travel. Time Dilation (Cosmic): You can take twice as many actions each round. Fate Inner Eye (Cosmic): Always gain the best possible dice rolls. Quixotic (Cosmic): You can reroll any dice (once per die roll). Light Shining Force (Cosmic): All enemies within your divine aura are treated as if blinded (no save), even if they do not have eyes. Specular (Cosmic): Enemies suffer an amount of damage equal to any damage they inflict upon you. |
| Zalakhiel04-27-07, 02:05 PM | :mymy:  :OMG! .................. Wow... You really, really helped me with this!     My project is almost complete with this, thank you so much! Now, all that is left to do is add one more SDA to both of them, one representing the darkness of heart, the evil taint within, and one representing pure light, supreme exaltedness. These SDA are for interaction between the Overgods and non-Overgods, not for combat purposes between the two Overgods. For the darkness aspect, the Sin Harvester will do. Now for the light aspect... :thinks: |
| MCage04-28-07, 12:08 PM | Personally i like overdieties that can change divine realms, something like the light side expanding a dieties realm and the darker aspect being able to constrict and having that expansion and constriction affect the dieties power level |
