The deity can render a magical or supernatural effect permanent. The rest requirement varies with the effect: 10 minutes per level of the effect times the number of subjects affected, 10 minutes per total Hit Dice of creatures affected, or 10 minutes per 10-foot cube affected. Use the highest applicable value.

So aside from extraordinary abillities/effects, is there anything else that can not be made permanent through Alter Reality (aside from the tempory effects already mentioned in it's description)?

I was, um, kinda hoping to make the Charm and Lust Domain powers permanent <.< >.>

Alter Reality can make any spell, spell-like ability, or supernatural ability permanent. This pretty much only rules out extraordinary abilities, as they are neither magical nor supernatural.

This is the main reason why Alter Reality is so amazingly over-powered. A deity could cast every spell ever made and make them all permanent on itself. The rest requirement would be meaningless, since they can cast a permanent time stop until they're done.

Any deity with Alter Reality should have delay death, antimagic field, true seeing, greater arcane sight, foresight, shapechange, wraithstrike, true strike, and ghostform active at all times.

Personally, I changed Alter Reality to require a minimum divine rank of 16 for my games. Nothing can really be considered broken for a greater deity, anyways.

...a permanent "Irresistible Dance" came into mind just now. O.o

AMF temply disable the effect of SU or SP. So having AMF casted with Alter Reality is a bad idea. However, the epic feat Permanent Emanation works perfectly with AMF since you can turn it on and off at will.

I totally agree. Only a greater deity, or at least an intermediate one.

Deities are immune to the effects of AMF, so creating a permanent AMF on themselves is one of the smartest things a deity can do.

I also agree that Alter Reality should have higher prerequisites. As is, it is by far one of the best SDAs and is also by far one of the easiest to acquire. Makes no sense. It's like giving 5th level wizards access to 9th level spells.

Hmm, didn't know that. I would assume the same is true for null psionics field.

Tsk, only reason my goddess never made Antimagic Field permanent is 'cause it would cause her boyfriend to shrink when he got near her (that Enlarge Person spell was just too good to pass up <.< >.>)

Well, Permanent Emanation will solve the problem then wouldn't it. Since you can turn it off at will.

I was thinking of that today, or perhaps have her create an artifact for him that just duplicates a permanent Enlarge Person spell (so her's wouldn't be the only AMF he'd have to worry about; plus it could be covered in glitter, I hear Barbarians love that).

Wait, wait....so, uh, could a Binder deity pretty much have all the vestige abilities active all the time?

No, binders are born doomed from deitihood... muahaha.

Whomever the vestiges come from won't allow them ascension... NEVER

Is that DM-speak for "thats crazy pwr and I can't allow it"? Thats understandable.

The vestiges don't come from anyone. Its their own decision who they bind with. I'd completely understand if you chose to houserule that practicing Binders can't ascend (or be able to bind vestiges after ascension). If the Binder+Alter Reality combo actually works, such a being would be absurdly powerful, and would have the class abilities of nearly all other classes with only 16 or so levels in Binder.
