| Eldritch_Lord01-29-08, 06:28 PM | Well, there was a video game a while back (Planescape: Torment) but overall it is too much of a niche appeal to draw in mainstream writers for TV or movies. |
| sciborg301-30-08, 09:53 AM | it's too much backstory i suspect. and at times what carries the theme of planescape is different to many fans. I never had a problem with the novels but others were up in arms about violations of canon. |
| Lord Karsus02-01-08, 12:16 AM | -If any of the D&D settings had the opportunity to become a television show, I'd nominate Planescape, simply because of the broad amount of topics it covers. -A Planescape comic series would be cool, too, while we're at it... |
| Naderion02-02-08, 06:08 AM | Backstory? Planescape has a backstory? "This is Sigil, a city in the center of the universe with portals to everywhere. And there are lots of crazy gangs called factions." What's more to know about it? |
| Tequila_Sunrise02-02-08, 07:50 PM | A Planescape comic book would be friggin' awesome, like a comination of Sin City and the X-Men. TS |
| E'tii'stil Shadowsil02-02-08, 08:04 PM | Planescape: Torment is, hands down, one of the greatest/best computer games in existence; for the sheer brilliance of gameplay, the amount of well written dialogue and the superb voiceacting- it's better than the games of the FF series. You should definitely check that out. There are two Planescape webcomics floating around the interwebs. One is endorsed by WotC, titled The Unity of Ring (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/DnD_PS_Comic.asp?Page=1). And the other is the Planescape Survival Guide (not as good (http://planescapecomic.com/)) There's also a Planescape comic that ships with (read: inside) Dungeon magazine. That one is called Downer. |

| faghter_hero02-04-08, 10:10 AM | A Planescape anime would be cool, for about 5 episodes until it becomes impossible to keep track of what plane they're on and the whole thing turns into Dragonball Z with a cute sorceress vs. tieflings and sumo wrestling gereleths. No, wait, I'd totally watch that. |
| Deacon Liadon02-05-08, 12:55 PM | I'm fairly certain I remember seeing a chibi version of Shemmy once. Can't remember where though. Planescape: Torment is indeed the best RPG ever. For most anyway. Some prefer the more action orientated games though. Poor misguided fools:P There was a great comic packaged with the Hellbound Box set, as well as the aforementioned Unity of Rings. A few novels as well. I quite liked the Blood Wars Trilogy (Those parts of it I've been able to find at least) which convey the feeling of the setting nicely. |
