| Maull02-14-07, 08:42 PM | I am looking to find a deity that has unarmed strike for their perferred weapon and humans or elves as followers. I am a monk so I would like a Lawful deity. Suggestions? |
| Millennium02-14-07, 08:58 PM | Zuoken from the Expanded Psionics Handbook. As the name of the book might suggest, he's also a deity of psionics. His favored weapon is an unarmed strike. Ilmater from Forgotten Realms. He's also a god of healing, or to be more precise, of relief from suffering. His favored weapon is an unarmed strike. Majere from Dragonlance. No, he's not that Majere, but the name is not a coincidence. I forget his favored weapon at the moment. Yondalla from the PHB, though she really makes more sense if you're a halfling. She's been known to sponsor orders of halfling monks from time to time. Her favored weapon is a short sword, not particularly monkish. Do keep in mind that monks don't actually have to worship Lawful deities, even though they must be Lawful themselves. Is there another reason you need a Lawful deity? |

| Maull02-14-07, 09:32 PM | Thanks for the prompt response. There is no special reason for Lawful, besides flavor. I am currently playing an evil, read selfish, monk and am thinking of some cleric levels. |
| ripvanwormer02-14-07, 09:36 PM | Xan Yae, goddess of twilight, stealth, shadows, and mental power, is also a patron of monks. Her favored weapon is the falchion, with monk weapons as her secondary favored weapons. She's described in Complete Divine and the Living Greyhawk Gazetteer. She's true neutral, though, so strictly according to the rules she wouldn't have lawful evil clerics. |
| alchemyprime02-14-07, 10:57 PM | Huh... Maybe Metru from my setting... Favored Weapon: Handaxe Monks freely multiclass as clerics for him. LN Law, Strength, Meditation That's about it. He's a god of chastity, though, so if ye don't like it, don't use him. |

| Thanael02-19-07, 04:45 AM | Zodal, The Grey Son, The Gentle Hand. God of mercy, hope and benevolence. Favored weapon(s): Hand of Zodal (unarmed strike, inflicts nonlethal damage) Other preferred weapons: Monk's weapons Oh, but he's NG. As for an evil one how about Zarus, The True Human God, the First Man (http://dicefreaks.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=235) He's the LE deity of Humanity, domination, perfection. In JD's version on dicefreaks his favoured weapon is unarmed, but in Races of Destiny it is Greatsword ... Talon of the Forgotten realms has unarmed strike too. |

In JD's version on dicefreaks his favoured weapon is unarmed, but in Races of Destiny it is Greatsword ... Heh, that's an amusing coincidence, in my game, Zarus also favors the unarmed strike. Also in my world, Zarus is a living being. He's a paragon human monk that rules over a largish island nation as a god. |
| WhiteRaven81002-19-07, 11:15 PM | Bahamut. He's Lawful, and his Relic from Complete Divine functions and stacks with the Monk's Belt. He just doesn't have an Unarmed Strike as his favored weapon. . . |
| kuhTHOOloo02-20-07, 12:25 AM | Huh... Maybe Metru from my setting... Favored Weapon: Handaxe Monks freely multiclass as clerics for him. LN Law, Strength, Meditation That's about it. He's a god of chastity, though, so if ye don't like it, don't use him. Just doesn't sit right with me, having a god of chastity favoring hacking weapon. You sure he's not LE? |
