| Gray Richardson06-08-07, 12:56 AM | This magazine is going to rock! I have already signed up. I believe it will help fill the abyss in my heart left by the (impending) death of Dragon and Dungeon magazines. Wolfgang Baur is an awesome designer and writer. I have great expectations for Kobobld Quarterly. I understand he will be accepting submissions from interested writers and designers as well. So anyone who was thinking of trying to get something published in Dragon or Dungeon some day, you still have a shot with Kobold Quarterly. It would be a great way to earn your credentials as a freelancer. I believe he is already accepting queries for upcoming issues. |

| sciborg206-08-07, 03:23 AM | I think I'll get a sub myself. This is looking like a good avenue to get planar stuff out in the open... |
| ephealy12-23-07, 03:10 AM | Issue #3 will be coming out in January, with another installment of the Princes of Hell series. Arbeyach, Lord of the Locusts by Ari Marmell Buzzzz! The master of famine, decay, and bureaucracy strikes down his foes like a plague. Or possibly a swarm. Is there a plague template? |
| Kain_Darkwind12-23-07, 02:47 PM | Wish I'd seen this little gem earlier, and not after issues 1&2 were already sold out. (I strongly dislike having to read PDFs rather than paper) Signed up for a subscription. |

| Kain_Darkwind01-14-08, 08:41 PM | Ok, I got KQ 3 in the mail today. It was not good. It was positively incredible. The entire magazine reminds me of my old Dragon issues, purchased to find Ed Greenwood's articles on Hell. Very much the same format and style. I'm not going to rehash what was in it, since it has been advertised prior, but this was really the first time in recent history (10 years or so) that I got a magazine (Dragon and Dungeon included) and read it cover to cover in a single sitting. I was sad to hear that Princes of Hell won't be continuing in the next issue, as that sort of thing is what interests me the most. However, I'm sure it will be back eventually, and if the magazine keeps up this level of quality, the lack can be forgiven. The mag has already sparked a couple ideas for my own game's work. And an Alternate World statblock for the Prince of Swarms will definitely be under construction. One thing I am sort of curious about. I got an email from Wolfgang Baur, entitled 'Kobold Quarterly 3', probably a week or two ago. When I went to open it, there was nothing there...the email no longer existed. It was like it had been deleted. Yahoo jerked around long enough that recovery was impossible, so I am wondering....what was in the email? Just a notice that the mag was shipping soon? A PDF version of the mag? A personal note thanking me for my awesome and incredible obyrith version of the occulus demon? A curious mind wants to know. Even better would be getting the email resent. It was the first email I got from WB, so I didn't even have the address to mail him back asking. I didn't think to post it here until just now. |
| Gray Richardson01-14-08, 10:30 PM | My email said simply:Dear Subscribers, The Winter issue of Kobold Quarterly is now available for your download at [URL address] It features a new look and an expanded pagecount. Happy New Year! Wolfgang Baur Kobold-in-ChiefIf you subscribe to the PDF version instead of the print version, it links to a site where you can download the PDF. Presumably print customers get the email too and the print copy arrives by mail shortly after. |

Kain, thanks for the kind words about the magazine, and you're right that the Princes of Hell will probably come back at some point. Yahoo has been the bane of my existence for the magazine; they've decided I'm some vile spammer. Anyway, yes, the email was to give you the download link for your PDF of the magazine. Send a note to KQ headquarters or the letters address, and I'll set you up with a replacement. |

After reading this, I'm gonna grab the PDF version of the first two, while nothing beats a dead tree in my grubby little hands to read, the mag is clearly too good to pass up just because the paper copies are gone. |
