questions regarding death throes [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-29-07, 07:14 PM 1. Does the death throes of a Balor effect other balors? or are they immune to death throes of their own kind?

2. Does the epic weapon ability of "Dread" on a critical hit turn a balor to dust before their death throes comes into effect, or does the death throes still happen.

09-30-07, 12:49 AM I believe since the throes description says anything within 100', I would say other balors are affected as well. Also the wording of Dread mentions destroyed instantly and turned to dust, so I would rule that it still experiences death throes and then what's left becomes dust.

10-01-07, 12:04 AM I just got the image of a crowd of balors, with one dying and going into death throes. He sets off a chain reaction, his death throes killing a balor, with that one killing another and another and another...

10-05-07, 12:37 PM Not to mention all his minions and any objects that are lying around and about.

I also find interesting the fact that the death throes automatically destroy any weapons the Balor is holding. Could be a good way of getting rid of certain items.
