If the succubi were the first tanar'ri to rise from the Abyss itself rather than through obyrith flesh carving, does that mean the War or Ripe Flesh only ended 2,000 years ago?

That seem frighteningly recent...I do like Lynkhab being mentioned though....

No, the War of Ripe Flesh was eons ago, shortly after the overthrow of the obyriths.

Malcanthet's ascension to her razor throne was much, much, much later. The War of Ripe Flesh ended with a number of powerful succubi establishing themselves as lords of far-separated layers - Malcanthet and Lynkhab were two of them. Malcanthet and Lynkhab have never come to blows since then (my bet is that Malcanthet would lose, since Lynkhab's been begging everyone she meets to kill her and no-one's managed it), but Lynkhab's fall into despair has allowed Malcanthet to claim the title of Queen of Succubi.

But anyway, the War of Ripe Flesh is not the same thing as Malcanthet ascending the Razor Throne. Not at all.

Dragon magazine. The recent Demonomicon entry on Malcanthet.

Yeah, I reread that and I see what you're saying Rip. I don't suppose you've done any writeups on the Queen of Succubi by chance?
