| jaw4ever01-30-08, 05:59 PM | How were baatezu and tanar'ri handled prior to 3rd Edition? Where they at once separate? I was going over my old Dragon magazines and they were very tanar'ri heavy. Any thoughts? |

| M-bark01-31-08, 10:28 AM | Don't forget the demodands! Yes, and then there were the demodands/gehreleth, who live in Carceri, with the Yugoloths/daemons next to them in Hades and Gehenna, whilst both are living in-between the ever-warring Baatezu devils of the Nine Hells and the Tenar'ri demons of the Abyss. Sadly, the demodands are no more in 3e (though some people have tried reworking them from 2e material), and yugoloths have become much less fearsome (the strongest, the Ultroloth, dropped from CR 20 to CR 13). Those have been tried to be reworked as well. |

Those have been tried to be reworked as well. One, the demodands were done in the 3e Fiend Folio. They exist as 3.0 entities. I've done 3.5 versions that should be a little closer to their 2e status here (http://projectdf.phpbbnow.com/viewtopic.php?p=16059#16059) The ultroloth was never a CR 20, so that is wrong. It was CR 16 in 3.0, and was actually increased in strength (18 HD vs 13 HD) but dropped in CR from 16 to 13. However, if one wished a CR 20 ultroloth....I've done one here (http://projectdf.phpbbnow.com/viewtopic.php?p=16047#16047). :D |
