The Lady is special though because she is an extreme enigma. If she lost here powers how would she act and how would others treat her? |
| sciborg203-25-07, 10:46 PM | She'd be dead. That's about it. And then Sigil would follow, a massive planar war of the gods...if you follow that Sigil is a place of singular - or at least major - importance. Otherwise, some exemplar lords might try to take her out but all of that is contingent on anyone even realizing she lost her powers. |

If they could, then most likely she is toast, unless she has more back channel allies than is generaly realized. After all, it can be useful to many that a place like Sigil exists at all. So she may be protected, while an effort is made to get her powers back. And that is probably the main reasoin to kill her anyway. Cut her down while she is still weak. |
| sciborg203-26-07, 12:08 AM | Yeah, the Lady losing her powers doesn't matter -- yeah some ticked off godling might take her out, but if someone else is the honcho in Sigil that is who will be facing the brunt of attention as the gods and exemplar lords play "take out the noob" In fact, this might be a great adventure where some batty woman with blades for hair starts claiming to be the now deposed Lady of Pain... |
| balard03-26-07, 12:15 PM | Wonderful concept! I think the great plot should be keeping the fact a secret and helping tha Lady to get back her power. Maybe a surprising ending, like the powerless Lady is in fact Jeremo trying to usurp the true Lady, or something like that... Fun to thinker around.:D |
| Bedevere03-26-07, 05:11 PM | Beings of great power and even moderate intelligence will make plans for if their powers are lost. Wizards store spells books, scrolls, etc, in safe places, for example. I'd imagine that deific level powers would do things like what Bhaal did, in the time of troubles. Make sure that even death is not a problem. Of course, similarly intelligent beings may well figure some or all of your plans out. Whether they do so in time is the question... |

Of course, similarly intelligent beings may well figure some or all of your plans out. Whether they do so in time is the question... Considering that no one knows anything about the Lady, I don't think this is a concern. Unless you happen to be Vecna. |
| Calmar03-26-07, 05:53 PM | I doubt there's folk barmy enough to check out, if the Lady suddenly is no longer able to blast a creature with a single thought. On the other hand... mayhap I have become impenetrable by bullets over night and just missed to notice it. ;) |
| Alpha_Moose03-26-07, 06:39 PM | In fact, this might be a great adventure where some batty woman with blades for hair starts claiming to be the now deposed Lady of Pain... That's what I was also thinking. I also wonder what the dabus would do. Would they try to seek her out, make some kind of illusion so no-one thinks she's gone, or rejoice that their cruel master is gone? Most of this is questionable because the Lady could be an illusion in the first place or six giant squirrels, but for this it would be assumed that she's an actual 'person'. My guess is that she has been so powerful that she can't really operate as a normal mortal. It would be funny if the PCs had to teach her how to eat and other very simple things. |
