| XHereticX06-07-07, 09:34 PM | I would like to know if I could get any 12 snd edition planescape products off RPGnow, which ones would be the best? Preferably no modules unless there are no more good acessories and the mods are REALLY good. |
| Shemeska the Marauder06-07-07, 11:41 PM | No specific order: Faces of Evil Hellbound: The Blood War Uncaged: Faces of Sigil Guide to the Astral Guide to the Ethereal The Inner Planes Planes of Conflict Planes of Law Planes of Chaos Factol's Manifesto PSMC I (or II or III) Faction War (there's a large section of the book that covers regions of Sigil that was included into the module at a late stage that was originally developed for a never produced 'City of Doors' box set). I'd include 'On Hallowed Ground', but there's no legal pdf for sale |

Um, and the boxed set itself... I would recommend Monster Compendium II, its critters are far more interesting than those in I or III. And the illustrations are much better than in III. The modules, well, only The Great Modron March and Dead Gods would fall under the "really good" heading. Harbinger House is interesting. They say Tales from the Infinite Staircase is also good, but I haven't read it yet. |
| sciborg206-08-07, 01:08 PM | Tales is worth getting. Shemmy pretty much covered all of the best. Planewalker's Handbook is actually a really good book, but just a condensing of material from other books. Factol's Manifesto is out and out gorgeous. I'd leave out Guide to the Astral however, I found maybe the weakest PS product :( . |

| Arin06-11-07, 12:17 AM | Hellbound is the best by far imo. |
| Bob the Efreet06-11-07, 02:12 AM | Hellbound is the best by far imo. Hellbound and Faces of Evil are both at the top, I'd say. Followed very closely by the Planes of X boxed sets. |
| sciborg206-11-07, 02:55 AM | Hellbound was pretty good, but I think that Planes of Law, Planes of Conflict, Factol's Manif, and Inner Planes are the most memorable for me. |
| Deacon Liadon06-11-07, 05:17 PM | I quite liked Faction War myself, but it's only really necessary if you're going to be running a post FW game. Hellbound is a brilliant read, and Squaring the Circle gives some interesting ideas about the third ed Demon and Devil stats. Faces of Evil is also a brilliant read. Of the Planes of X sets, I find Planes of Chaos to be the most interesting. |
