Ok so i've been told this is the forum to ask the big questions, don't let me down.

A few months back I, a NG Cleric of Pelor, picked up a baby Trog and have kept him with me ever since, the issue isn't how raising him will work since my DM and I have already figured that out. Our question is how would my Diety, whom I am very devoted to, feel about having a Trog Cleric if i'm so lucky to raise him that far?

Also what are the chances that Laogzed, God of Trogs, might try and stop such a progression. And if he did what kind of trouble would normally befall my party?

Well that sounds like a really interesting situation. I think that Pelor wouldn't mind too much that you're trying to increase his fold. He is one of the major dieties (sometimes THE major diety). Such a thing may be beneath his notice. As far as the Trog's god coming after you, that's more likely. His influence isn't as big, and he's a pretty minor diety (most of the monstrous creature racial dieties are). This may attract Pelor's notice, which would certainly outweigh the influence of Laogzed.
I'd say your DM should be making up some adventures where the Trogs come after you, but you get a little help from Pelor.

Everything I've read about Pelor, from old Greyhawk books to the new Core Beleifs articles in Dragon Magazine, make him out to be a wonderfully compassionate, loving, and accepting god. If the troglodyte were true in it's faith, Pelor would have no problem I could see with it. And as for Lagozed, he's a punk, to be sure, but while he might order some Retribution, it wouldn't be on the collosal level that say, Grumush would send after an orcish preist of Corellon.

Pelor would love to have a Troglodyte cleric. Pelor would not hold his race against him.

Laogzed would probably not even notice.

I'll tell you this: I don't think either god will care much either way, unless this child happens to be some sort of mystical 'chosen one.' Gods just don't generally care enough about mortal goings-on to get involved unless it is something on an epic scale. Whether a human cleric chooses to raise a trog baby or not is beneath their notice.

The baby is much more likely to face discrimination and retribution from mortals. Humans don't like the new green kid in the neighbourhood, troglodytes don't like the idea of pinkies raising one of theirs. So to reiterate: unless this kid is destined to become a legendary leader or destroy the multiverse, leave the gods out of it.

Like other said, Pelor wouldn't care. Nor would Laogzed, the loss of a single worshipper wouldn't be worth retribution. But if he somehow see a future event, where your kid Trog would convert whole tribes to the worship of Pelor, then I guess you should see Troglodyte Ninjas hunting you and your kid in a near future...

Pelor probably has millions, if not billions, of followers throughout the multiverse. Most of them are unimportant. That's the case with your baby trog. He's just another low-level cleric; Pelor won't object, but he won't take any special notice either. And until the youngen gets up to like divine-ascension range, Lagozed won't care either. Have fun with your baby trog; it's a concept I've been toying around with myself for awhile now, teams of trog photomancers in the Underdark to ward of drow.
