05-06-07, 03:46 AM The Realm of Jarizan the couatl goddess....invented in Planescape I believe.

I'm wondering if it has any connection to the song 'Serpent at the Gates of Wisdom'? :)

05-06-07, 04:05 PM If you're talking about this song (http://www.jh3.com/robyn/base/song.asp?squid=541), uh, probably not very; that seems to be about the serpent in the Garden of Eden, which seems much more ambiguous than the unquestionably lawful good Jazirian. It's a good question to ask him/her, though: if you're so lawful good, why don't you ascend higher? "When you're so close to the answer, why don't you go in?"

I do like me some Robin Hitchcock.

Haha, try this verse for some revisionist history:

Serpent at the gates of wisdom
Why did you deceive us?
He was weak, but that's no reason
For what you did to Asmodeus
You're a fool -- you broke the stillness
He gave birth to desire
Rolling down the frozen highway
Like a burning tyre

05-06-07, 04:21 PM Yeah that song -- I thought it might be an inside joke/tribute by naming the realm after a serpent and then including 'Gates of Wisdom' in the title.

"Revisionist" as in Asmodeus being the first (or second?) mortal being, created by Jazirian, deceived by an incarnation of that deity into eating from the Tree of Knowledge, subsequently being banished into what would become Baator?

I like.

Oh, while we're at it, could we have Asmodeus also be impregnated by Jazirian just before the banishment, later to give birth to the yuan-ti/sarukh deities? (To see through the rumors, I imagine the Guvners would have to organize an expedition into Nessus to determine Asmodeus' gender, as they once did with the Great A'tuin.)
