| Harr08-16-07, 01:01 PM | I've been reading this website and it claims that the followers of the Masked Lord are not permitted to use any other summoning spells except those that summons his avatar or one of his creations. http://www.angelfire.com/realm2/drowasylum/clergy.html Is this official information? |
| Andyr08-16-07, 08:03 PM | That could be information from an older edition of the game--so while nothing in the current rules prevents them from summoning anything different to a normal priest, you might decide you want to obey by the stricter regulations in that link. |
| Reklin08-23-07, 02:39 PM | That page probably hasn't been updated in a while. Vhaeraun was absorbed by Eilistraee. His clerics get their spells from her now, although only handful of them know it. |
| Harr08-23-07, 02:56 PM | Is Vhaeraun's absorbsion by Eilistraee a direct result of Lloth's silence or a totally seperate event? I've only read the sample excerpts of Storm of the Dead and Sacrifice of the Widow. I'm gonna pick up the first book soon. What's more, my DnD character is just turning to the worship of Vhaeraun, hmm.. this twist might prove interesting :) |

| Mirtek08-24-07, 10:38 AM | That page probably hasn't been updated in a while. IMO this site looks like a site for a homebrew version of Vhaerun which borrows heavily from the canon version but with personal changes. |
| twiggyleaf08-26-07, 07:12 AM | I have been playing a Cleric of Vhaeraun for two years and have always played it with the "no summoning" rule. However, I was able to find a Specialised Vhaeruan summoning spell, which I had to go on quite a long quest to get hold of. I like it because it is unique and "Vhaeraunian" and uses the Summon Monster slots to summon a specifially Vhaeraunian outsider called a Vhaerath. Summon Monster 2 = First level warrior Vhaerath Summon Monster 3 = First level fighter Vhaerath or 2nd Level Warrior Vhaerath Summon Monster 4 = Second level fighter or 3rd level warrior etc. First Level Warrior stats: hp 7 AC 16 s10 d15 c10 i13 w9 ch10 F+2 R+2 W-1 Web Armour, buckler, rapier Feats: toughness Attack +1 First Level Fighter stats: hp11 AC17 s13 d17 c12 i14 w10 ch10 F+3 R+3 W0 Web armour, buckler, rapier, hand crossbow Feats: weapon finesse, exotic weapon: hand crossbow Attack +4 Both of these have normal drow abilities of darkness, faerie fire, dancing lights, darkvision and spell resistance. Otherwise everything works as a normal summoning spell. Sorry, but I can't remember where I actually got this from - but if you want to keep with the "no summoning rule", I suggest it is a good alternative. |
| Harr08-26-07, 07:41 AM | Ah, the Vhaerath! I know that one. It can be found in a drow spellbook called 'Obsul Ssussun' (Door to Light). http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mb/20040818a Now that Eilistraee did Vhaeraun in, did she take his domains as well? |
| Legdiwena08-29-07, 07:19 PM | Where does it say he merged? According to books he was still a normal god after War of the Spider Queen series. |
| Harr08-30-07, 04:18 AM | Where does it say he merged? According to books he was still a normal god after War of the Spider Queen series. Read the book Sacrifice of the Widow, the first one in the Lady Penitent trilogy, it takes place three years after the events of the War of the Spider Queen series. |
| Lord Karsus08-30-07, 06:58 PM | Now that Eilistraee did Vhaeraun in, did she take his domains as well? -I assume we'll find out in future FR sourcebooks. If she did in fact kill him and absorb his essence, as the novels make us believe, then she should take his domains as well. However, if it is all a ploy, and Vhaeraun isn't as dead as the novels are portraying him, then she shouldn't be able to access his domains. |
| Legdiwena09-06-07, 01:06 PM | Who is that series by? |
| Lord Karsus09-06-07, 01:31 PM | -The Lady Penitent Trilogy, by Lisa Smedman. |
