11-26-07, 09:46 AM I am playing a cleric of Wee-Jas in a campaign and was wondering if someone could direct me to info on how she feels about creating undead. I have read the deities and demigods and the article in the dragon magazine but they dont really explain how she feels about that.

I would say that she doesn't have a problem creating undead. I'd avoid it if your cleric alignment is LG but other then that, I don't see why not. I mean she is the goddess of death and magic, necromancy/undead only fits.

I once played a LG Gnome Cleric, Wizard, Mystic Theurge of Wee Jas. It was pretty funny to see the Gnome with domains of Death and Magic casting a necro (non-evil) spell against an enemy. Good times in bad campaigns.

11-26-07, 07:16 PM Make sure also you know how your DM feels about creating undead. You must be nongood, that's for sure. If your DM doesn't place the creation of undead as an evil act (the use of said undead being a completely different matter), Wee Jas shouldn't have any trouble.

It would also depend if you're a necromancer or her cleric, because you could even be backed up by her church. Her clerics (unless good) channel negative energy without becoming evil.

11-30-07, 01:49 PM i have a played a couple of clerics of wee jas myself. When creating undead it really depends on what your character is, and how he views his religon.

here comes the helpful part.
Wee jas favors both arcane and divine magic. There is a spell in the spell conpendium call summon undead. its arcane, but if you have the magic domain then you should be ok. the spell alows for a median to be found.

12-02-07, 09:51 AM One more question. The magic domain says that you can use scrolls and wands as 1/2 level. Does that mean that if you use a scroll that has a caster level of 6 it is now a 3 for you or what exactly does this mean?

12-02-07, 03:14 PM It means (for divine users with the magic domain) that you can use scrolls as a 1/2 level user. You at 6th level use a scroll the same way a 3rd level wizard does.

12-03-07, 09:51 PM I think the key issue with Wee Jas and Undead is to respect official burials. In otherwords It is probably okay for a LN or LE cleric of hers to Animate the local bandits that have not been buried and just attacked your party as opposed to breaking into the local cemetary

Although it makes me wonder if a N (Lawful Chaotic or otherwise) Cleric chooses to channel positive energy for their spontanious casting should they still be making undead all willy nilly? (Really just thought of this is all)
