| Hammerhead11-01-07, 12:19 PM | Mines Fraz-Urbluu |
| Igfig11-01-07, 01:34 PM | If Iggwilv ever became an actual demon lord, she would be my favorite. Until then... probably Malcanthet. |
| DwarfPcfan11-01-07, 01:41 PM | i'm devided I like two equally. The first being Obox-OB because the minute I go a look at him and his multiple heads, he gave me the creeps. Then I read the hordes of the Abyss and I was convinced that he's truly one of the coolest demonlords roaming the abyss. My other favorite is still Orcus. He's just such a dynamic, evil and driven force of the multiverse. He actually succeeded in makingthe whole multivese quake when he rose as Tenebrous, he slew Primus and masquaraded as him. He's exactly what a demon should be... |
| Japan_the_cougar11-01-07, 01:55 PM | I agree with Obox-Ob. The minute I saw him, I knew there was something great about him. My other is Ugundek, mostly because he's a giant purple worm that makes people scared of the ground, and he's almost his own layer, making him literally immortal. Even though he isn't actually a demon lord, I also like Veshorviak, because he literally is his layer. Although I don't approve of his relations with Lolth; he needs to cut that off. :D |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-01-07, 02:06 PM | Orcus of course, with Graz'zt coming in a very close second. Tenebrous and the Last Word is awesome so that puts Orcus just a bit above Graz'zt. |
| Kain_Darkwind11-01-07, 02:53 PM | I'm a fan of Grazzt first, Demogorgon second. I've also liked Yeenoghu. |
| Artifact11-01-07, 04:16 PM | I'd have to go with Malcanthet. She played into the backround of one of my more memorable character's. At the time, I had no idea she had no actual real world history beyond 3rd edition; seems she's wholly the creation of Robert J. Kuntz for the mega-adventure "Maure Castle" (which appeared in Dungeon Magazine #112). She's appeared in many places since then, most notably in the Savage Tide Adventure Path. Needless to say, I drooled when I saw the Demonomicon of Iggwilv article on her in Dragon Magazine #353 by James Jacobs. I s'pose with the "re-imagining" that WotC has done with the cosmos for 4e, such a character would be considered a devil rather than a demon. Even if the current batch of Demonomicon articles are to be invalidated however, I think they're wonderful for what they are. And while I'm at it, I'd like to take a moment to say that I feel much the same way about the Core Beliefs articles by Sean K. Reynolds (which were also a successful and popular feature of Dragon Magazine). The 4e core pantheon may not be Greyhawk anymore, but I can always hope that one day I'll see a return of these terrific articles. --Art |
| ripvanwormer11-01-07, 04:22 PM | My favorite is V'aughrosfl (http://geocities.com/athens/7117/monsters/vaugh.html). |
| Kain_Darkwind11-01-07, 04:56 PM | My favorite is V'aughrosfl (http://geocities.com/athens/7117/monsters/vaugh.html). Die in obscurity with your favorite, Rip. Where's this guy from? I see David Alexander created him, but I'm not certain if he's pure fan material or found in one of the secretive tomes you hide away in your den of lore. And why is he your favorite, out of curiosity? |
| Lobsopdoy11-01-07, 05:49 PM | Bah! V'aug is a CE Dispater Anyway, my fave is a tie between Obox-Ob and Demogorgon. Odd how Obox-ob seems to be surprisingly popular : ) |
| Toran_A_Sunder11-01-07, 06:00 PM | I would have to put mine in for Orcus. Even before I really delved into the Outer Planes lore, he really evoked a lot of awesome ideas. He featured prominently as the head antagonist in the eneormous Round Robin campaign my friends I ran a few years back. Really for me there is no other. |
| zopzop11-01-07, 06:40 PM | Demogorgon or Obox-ob. Everyone else is meh :) |
| ripvanwormer11-01-07, 07:37 PM | Die in obscurity with your favorite, Rip. Where's this guy from? I see David Alexander created him, but I'm not certain if he's pure fan material or found in one of the secretive tomes you hide away in your den of lore. And why is he your favorite, out of curiosity?' Pure fanon. I guess I like him because he exemplifies "brain over brawn," which is unusual for a demon. A charismatic tiefling who occasionally helps out the forces of Good, and turns out to be an Abyssal lord? Swoon! |
| Taeldrin Laesrash11-01-07, 08:34 PM | I like Dagon the most. I like water, I like Lovecraft, and I really like those obyriths he had in his Demonomicon article. |
| The Serge711-01-07, 08:39 PM | Demogorgon. |
| zook1shoe66611-01-07, 11:12 PM | 1- Pazuzu! Pazuzu! Pazuzu! 2- Ilsidahur 3- Queen of Chaos |
| Hammerhead11-01-07, 11:58 PM | Noone else picked Fraz-Urbluu? I mean, he can summon the other demon lords to fight for him thats pretty cool! |
| Kojiro James11-02-07, 12:25 AM | Graz'zt. He's the John Shaft of the Abyss. |
| Mr.Black11-02-07, 12:52 AM | 1.Demogoron, the Dual Prince, both the sibilant beast and the rumble in the jungle. My players are going to get their lifetimes worth of his demons, fiendish dinosaurs, pirate warlords, reptilian cultists, and psionic ixitxachitl. 2.Dagon is the cold, alien abyss given form. He also has the whole Lovecraft thing going for him. 3.Kostchtchie is a tragic but truly dispicable creature. A lonely, backwoods freak who became a juggernaut with a grudge, Kostchtchie should be in slasher films. |
| Kain_Darkwind11-02-07, 01:33 AM | Noone else picked Fraz-Urbluu? I mean, he can summon the other demon lords to fight for him thats pretty cool! You know, I was going to make some comment about the very first poster picking him. Possibly sardonic in nature, suggesting you read the thread. Good thing I checked who it was first, huh? Fraz is a big lame failure of a demon lord though. He managed to screw up bad enough to get trapped by a non-epic mortal, unlike his contemporaries who were beaten by epic mortals and demigods. That's a pretty major no-go on your 'evil overlord' checklist. |

He managed to screw up bad enough to get trapped by a non-epic mortal, unlike his contemporaries who were beaten by epic mortals and demigods. That's a pretty major no-go on your 'evil overlord' checklist. And don't forget he managed to get everyone to hate and distrust him. |
| goldomark11-02-07, 03:45 AM | 1. The Queen of Chaos. She killed Obox-Ob, the ruling Prince of Demons at the time, put Miska in is place (she didn't even cared about the title and it's powers), created a entire sub-species of Tanar'ri and wagged a interplanar war against Law. You got to love her. 2. Pazuzu. He looks cool and what he does, corrupting mortals for wishes is loads of fun for a DM. 3. Dagon. A wise/mad entity under the sea. To scary. I guess they are all obyrith. |
| sciborg311-02-07, 08:37 AM | Dagon or Demogorgon |
| Return of the Flumph11-02-07, 09:07 AM | 1. Demogorgon, because he-more than any other entity in the Abyss-sums up what demons are all about. 2. Pazuzu, because a giant, demonic birdman who sends plagues to devastate entire worlds is like a cooler version of Sephiroth. 3. Orcus, because he is so spiteful, disgusting, damaging to nature, and simply unwilling to die. |
| Sorcen_Anenooata11-02-07, 10:09 AM | I'll add Miska the Wolf-Spider as my choice for 3rd place. Hes just awesome and mixes my queen's love of spiders with my love of wolves. |
| Doom_Linnorm11-02-07, 04:21 PM | Extremely tough because other then Melcanthet*, Demogorgon*, Kostochie and Yeenoghu I really do love all of them. So here comes in no particular order. Graz'zt, because he is a brilliant strategist who managed to secure 3 layers and thinks its "cute" that his children want to kill and overthrow him, amongst other things. Dagon, because he's a truly ancient and alien monster with a wealth of knowledge. Fraz, he's a prankster at Demon Lord level... I mean, c'mon... how funny must it be to call Orcus and watch him go vent his anger on the nearest poor souls once he realizes what's going on. V'aughrosfl, he became an instant notch up here because of Rip's link, he sounds like tons of fun. Pazuzu, I just can't find something I don't like about him. Not only is a he a kickarse schemer, he's easy to access in a campaign and tons of story beef to him cus of his Obyrithness. *In my setting both Melcanthet and Demogorgon have died and a new lord has been added, Dalathia, Demon Queen of Sorcery. Mind you Demogorgon's corpse has gone missing.. |
| Deacon Liadon11-02-07, 07:28 PM | I'm personally a fan of Baphomet. He has a lot of flavour to him. And Grazzt. He rocks. |
| Shemeska the Marauder11-02-07, 08:20 PM | 1. Pale Night. She's made of universe rending horror and gauzy, clingy gowns. What's not to love? :) 2) Obox-Ob. James Jacobs has done his best to make me love this guy in all his warped centipede-like glory. |
| Witch11-02-07, 08:23 PM | I'm a fan of a large number of lords and princes. I figure if I need to name a few specific ones, I'll go with Fraz-Urb'Luu, Obox-Ob and Baphomet. |
| Ryyam11-03-07, 01:38 AM | 1) Dagon - the whole mysteries of the Abyss thing 2) Demogorgon - my fav since 1e 3) Obox-Ob - insecty goodness 4) Adimarchus - without out a doubt the most original fallen angel |
| Soel Griffin11-03-07, 03:36 AM | Baphomet. He brought us the Bulezau, after all. As a runner up, Vulcarik. I once cast him as a redeemed mortal poet/warrior who if pressed, would rely on his heavy chain to settle matters. |
| demiurge2311-03-07, 03:45 AM | Demogorgon is #1, absolutely the alpha demon baddass! Takes out orcus 1 on 1 without barely breaking a sweat. # 2 Pazuzu a very interesting fellow who kinda seems above it all (pardon the pun) + the only Demon lord who's had a major role in a great film/book of our time- The Exorcist!! (Demogorgon only got a book from Brian Lumley) |
| Dex11-03-07, 08:22 AM | Pazuzu Why? Because he's only ever three words away. |
| Malcadon11-03-07, 10:57 AM | 1. Graz'zt (http://malcadon.deviantart.com/art/Demon-Prince-Graz-zt-61174866) 2. Orcus 3. Yog-Sothoth (yes, he/it/whatever is from the Cthulhu Mythos, but I dont give a dame!) |
| Sliver_Slave11-04-07, 04:42 PM | 1. Obox-ob 2. Pazuzu 3. Lascer (From Dragon) |
| Jarred_Garrison11-04-07, 06:11 PM | Graz'zt, followed closely by Pazuzu and Pale Night. |
| SokenzanMarauder11-04-07, 06:48 PM | Graz'zt; he's the 'sexiest' of all the Demon Lords and it's something unique among them (not to mention he's a beast in combat). |
| Witch11-04-07, 07:59 PM | Graz'zt; he's the 'sexiest' of all the Demon Lords and it's something unique among them (not to mention he's a beast in combat). Unique, as in shared with Malcanthet, Lynkhab, Malcanthet, Shami-Amourae and Xinivrae? ;P |
| khyron114411-04-07, 09:12 PM | Abraxas. He's got a rich real world history, including being the root of the word abracadabra, and he appears on The List, yet he has seen no D&D development as far as I know. |
| SokenzanMarauder11-04-07, 11:43 PM | Unique, as in shared with Malcanthet, Lynkhab, Malcanthet, Shami-Amourae and Xinivrae? ;PYup! :D There isn't enough hotness in the abyss/hells. |
| aelryinth11-05-07, 01:03 PM | Khourne. Blood for the Blood God! Warhammer IS acceptable, right? They do such a better job of conveying the power of demons. But, for D@D...I really don't like any of them, but both Orcus and GRaz'zt have their good points. Demogorgon was always neutral to me, and the others were never big enough players to really matter. Seriously, Lolth, Demon Queen of Spiders, was the first demon I enjoyed, since she was in GDQ series. Too bad they had to go and make her a freaking goddess, she could have been so cool. ===Aelryinth |
| Ornum11-05-07, 01:10 PM | This is actually a tough one for me, and it's mainly because I'm not a fan of any of the demon lords (my view on the Lords of the Nine runs in the opposite direction, however). If forced to choose, I'd have to go with Dagon or Obox-Ob. |
| setekh11-05-07, 03:28 PM | Khourne. Blood for the Blood God! Warhammer IS acceptable, right? They do such a better job of conveying the power of demons. Too bad they had to go and make her a freaking goddess, she could have been so cool. ===Aelryinth Khorne *cough* :P I quite like Demagorgon, simply for his appearance in Baldurs gate 2. "DEMAGORGON IS FREE!" |
| Malcadon11-05-07, 04:09 PM | Khourne. Blood for the Blood God!   SLAAESH!!!   N***y for the Sex God! But, for D@D...I really don't like any of them, but both Orcus and GRaz'zt have their good points. Demogorgon was always neutral to me, and the others were never big enough players to really matter. I like Orcus & Graz'zt, but I have been mixed with Demogorgon as I had a hard time making a cult made for reptiles and odd-balls that is interesting. My players love the Cult of Graz'zt and enjoy playing members of that cult. Seriously, Lolth, Demon Queen of Spiders, was the first demon I enjoyed, since she was in GDQ series. Too bad they had to go and make her a freaking goddess, she could have been so cool. I know! Did you see the new Demon Web book? See was dictating policy to the Demon Lords! That not right!?! If she tried that back in AD&D, they would have slapped her around. In my games, Arch-devils, Demon Lords, and Gods (to me they are just Titans with PC levels) are all interchangeable. |
| Terraneaux11-06-07, 03:26 AM | 1. Pazuzu- he rules the skies of ALL abyssal layers. Because he's that cool. 2. Pazuzu-doesn't kill kids because he's got standards 3. Pazuzu-makes house calls |
| setekh11-06-07, 10:22 AM | [CENTER]   SLAAESH!!!   <.< >.> Slaanesh *cough* Khorne (Agression, and by extension Martial Pride and blood-lust) Nurgle (Despair, and by extension Pestilence and Decay) Slaanesh (Excess, and by extension experience) Tzeentch (Change, and by extension, sorcery and deceit) For anyone who is interested. |

Still one the most wickedly cool movies ever, even 35 years later ;). /\ Art |
| Return of the Flumph11-06-07, 07:30 PM | Abraxas. He's got a rich real world history Pazuzu has more, IMO. |
| Malcadon11-06-07, 08:01 PM | Yes, Pazuzu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pazuzu) has a rich real-world background. Now the Cthulhu mythos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_Mythos) as a vary rich and detailed background. I see them as interchangeable to the D&D demon mythos (but to an extreme sense).     CTHULHU KICKS ASS!!!     |
| teemuu11-06-07, 08:42 PM | Demogorgon Because the only thing scarier then an angry baboon , is a critter with 2 baboon heads on a lizard octopus body with chicken feet!:D |
| Ardashir11-20-07, 12:04 PM | 1. Pale Night. She's made of universe rending horror and gauzy, clingy gowns. What's not to love? :) What, do Pale Night and Shemeska trade fashion tips? ;) My own favorite demon lords would msotly be of the beastly/savage variety -- Baphomet is cool, as are Yeenoghu (yay! Gnolls!) and Kostchtchie. My main regret concerning the Demonomicon series was that they never did cover Yeenoghu's cult among both gnolls and humans. I'll always wonder what a Thrall of Yeenoghu wuld have looked like (aside from fur-covered and mangy). However, I also have some fondness for the Queen of Succubi, Malcanthet. What can I say, femme fatales have always been attractive to me. |
| Alter_Boy11-20-07, 12:46 PM | You know, I was going to make some comment about the very first poster picking him. Not to mention Gygax was slightly inebriated when he introduced Fraz to the world. For me, it's Pazuzu. This guy actually scares me. The other Demon Lords act like epic bad guys: amass power, conquer, corrupt, repeat. Pazuzu is actually after your soul. He corrupts you, influences you to spread his corruption until everyone you know has fallen into chaotic evil, then leaves you high and dry. He may not have the largest abyssal army, but he's three times the corrupter Graz'zt could ever be. |
| ripvanwormer11-20-07, 01:15 PM | Well, Fraz-Urb'luu was captured by Zagig Yragerne and Iggwilv working together, using an artifact created by rival Abyssal lords specifically to trap Fra-Urb'luu. I don't think he has much to be ashamed of. |
| sciborg311-20-07, 04:02 PM | He corrupts you, influences you to spread his corruption until everyone you know has fallen into chaotic evil, then leaves you high and dry. I agree with on this. This is why fiends frighten me more than Far Realmians. The worst thing Far Realmians can do is make you insane and break your mind. Fiends are worse, they can take you as a sane person making sane choices, only those choices are ultimately horrible and then you wonder afterward how you could do such a thing, even as you can follow the track your mind took to get there. |
| Kain_Darkwind11-20-07, 09:11 PM | Well, Fraz-Urb'luu was captured by Zagig Yragerne and Iggwilv working together, using an artifact created by rival Abyssal lords specifically to trap Fra-Urb'luu. I don't think he has much to be ashamed of. He's a putz, Rip. He went down failing on a natural 1. Even Mr. CR 19 Juiblex never got punked by mortals. He gets no respect from molydei and balors, for certain, but mortals leave him alone. Except when they're putting his spawn in the MM5. Fraz also has possibly the lamest picture in the old MM2. :D |
| NoldorForce11-21-07, 12:39 AM | Pazuzu. Partly because of the whole Pun-Pun debacle, partly because he's practically diabolical in his workings (despite being an obyrith). (See the comments of Alter_Boy and sciborg3.) |
| Barron11-21-07, 09:01 AM | Orcus is far and away my favorite Demon Prince. In almost every campaign I;ve ever run, his presence has been felt in some way or another, and he's the only Demon Lord who's been a primary antagonist in my games. I think there's just something loveable in a villian who's best talent is failure. Kind of like why people like the Monarch (from venture bros.) He's so pathetic you kind of want him to succeed. That's kind of how I feel about Orcus |
| Kiioro11-21-07, 02:47 PM | A hard contest between Malcanthet and Graz'zt. Unlike Shami-Amourae, Lynkhab or Xinivrae, that have quite debased ideas of pleasure (like depression, activities that would make a succubus gag and so forth...), these two build their empires out of pleasure, cunning and magic. They treat well humans (at least physically) to win them AND contest between themselves to see who is the most lustful one. And does Beshaba count? In some Forgotten Realms book it is stated that she has many tieflings as her descendents. She is incredibly sexy too, not to mention the manifestation of murphy's laws (which seem to go after me quite often). The reason: If I were a demon lord, I'd do something similar:I wouldn't be happy torturing, killing or scaring. If my life isn't surrounded by all kinds of pleasures, I'm not satisfied. Long live we the hedonists. |
| zook1shoe66611-21-07, 03:15 PM | And does Beshaba count? she is a deity, not a demon lord. |
| Shemeska the Marauder11-21-07, 03:38 PM | And does Beshaba count? While she might live in the Abyss, she's not counted as a demonlord. So probably not. |
| Shemeska the Marauder11-21-07, 03:43 PM | What, do Pale Night and Shemeska trade fashion tips? ;) "She fell out of fashion a long, long, long time ago. She's that old lady who tries to dress provocatively despite her age, and despite only having things eons out of style. It's not hot, it's creepy. I'd happily give her some tips, being young(er) and a fiendish trendsetter and all, but I don't really care to visit her castle, and she isn't going to be waltzing into Sigil anytime soon. Besides, I don't do the whole gauzy and shrouded thing. There comes a point when leaving things to the imagination just makes it obvious that you've got no self confidence and/or you're trying to hide a blemish or a really bad dye job or something." http://arcanofox.foxpaws.net/shemmywink.gif |
| Kiioro11-21-07, 06:23 PM | I asked if Beshaba counted because, despite of the fact that she's a lesser goddess, the book states that she has tiefling descendents (that sport antlers, just like her unholy symbol). Why wouldn't they be demi-gods or something like that? Why tiefling? I'm confused. |
| Shemeska the Marauder11-21-07, 07:13 PM | I asked if Beshaba counted because, despite of the fact that she's a lesser goddess, the book states that she has tiefling descendents (that sport antlers, just like her unholy symbol). Why wouldn't they be demi-gods or something like that? Why tiefling? I'm confused. Presumably because either she can have children with mortals without imparting any divinity, or because such offspring are the result of her divine servitors mating with mortals. Tiefling in this case is being expanded to include later generation offspring of evil gods, not just distant offspring of actual fiends. |
| RAGNAROKISCOMING200711-22-07, 05:50 PM | 1)Orcus 2)Graz'zt 3)Pazuzu |
| Malcadon11-23-07, 09:21 AM | I think I'm going to change my list: 1. Graz'zt (http://malcadon.deviantart.com/art/Demon-Prince-Graz-zt-61174866) (aka: the Demon Lord guys wish to be!) 2. Pazuzu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pazuzu) (aka: Captain Howdy (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f4/Captain_howdy.jpg)) 3. | seker11-29-07, 03:56 AM | Malberode the faceless or Arioch :P hehe actually from D&D I would say: Graz'zt and Malcanthet (come on what hedonist could not choose them) and Pale Night |
| Kiioro11-29-07, 11:00 AM | I'm starting to see a strong hedonist faction around here. Is there a club or something? I'd like to join, maybe. A bunch of us went for Graz'zt and/or Malcanthet just because of hedonism... |

| Kiioro11-29-07, 03:59 PM | Well, Sharess help me, 'cause I'm gonna find it. |
| Melpomene11-29-07, 04:34 PM | I'v always liked Jublix. Not really bad, just... misunderstood. ...and there are no longer fetish clubs here. Those threads were closed. ^_^ |
| Kiioro11-29-07, 06:06 PM | I'v always liked Jublix. Not really bad, just... misunderstood. ...and there are no longer fetish clubs here. Those threads were closed. ^_^ Whoa, whoa... Hedonism =/= Fetish, -not necessarily, at least- just to be clear. Pain is not pleasure (for me). I'm just stating that we're cool (and probably should overthrow all of those characteristic eunuch heroes/antiheroes roaming out there). If a demon lord helps, well, perfect. Probably Graz'zt and Malcanthet could help. Hell, even Lady Lynkhab, Shami-Amourae and Xinivrae (though quite pathetic or disturbing) may aid. And Juiblex? Count me as someone who misunderstands it. He's... well... slime. And rules over... slime. I just can't perceive the :thinks: greatness. |
| Kain_Darkwind11-29-07, 06:26 PM | Not much great about a guy who gets bullied by balors. |
| Thegans11-29-07, 07:04 PM | Not much great about a guy who gets bullied by balors. Actually I'm kind of amazed he ascended to demonlordhood. It's almost like the other demon lords all decided they wanted a distraction their minions could boss arround when necessary. I mean I assume he can come back ever 100 years like the rest of the demon lords. Hmm they probably send him to their cults when attacked so their followers can use him as a meatshield. |
| Mysteris11-29-07, 07:49 PM | 1.) Malcanthet. Sure she'll make your life a living hell, but what a way to go. 2.) The Queen of Chaos. All the fun of a femme fatale, and she probably did more for the actual conquest of evil than any of the squabbling demons or devils of today. 3.) Obox-Ob. Just for being a tough old demon if nothing else. It takes a cunning demon to use their own lameness as a wedge into the higher ranks of society. That's what I would say if Jubilex were intelligent or anything. But at least he has one thing going for him: who's going to want to approach the stinking, disgusting Lord of Slime to actually beat him down? |
| Thegans11-29-07, 08:19 PM | 1.) Malcanthet. It takes a cunning demon to use their own lameness as a wedge into the higher ranks of society. That's what I would say if Jubilex were intelligent or anything. But at least he has one thing going for him: who's going to want to approach the stinking, disgusting Lord of Slime to actually beat him down? What they don't have a janitor prestige class anywhere? |
| Space_Dragon11-30-07, 08:40 AM | While I know how fun it is to mock and deride the latest version of Juiblex, I believe its been established at this point that the stats in the FC1 are for avatars or aspects of the demon lords, not the entities themselves. Juiblex's avatar might be CR 19, but the real thing is going to be a lot tougher; definetely more than a match for a balor. Or even three balors. |
| Sanity_Cleaver11-30-07, 08:52 AM | OBOX-OB ALL THE WAY!! Nothing epitomizes pure unrestrained insanity like that guy- he is absolutely the best ever. Dammit print a Demonomicon for him already!! Demongorgon comes in second, and Ugudenk is quite cool. For obscure references, Raum and Shiggareb from Green Ronin's Armies of the Abyss are AWESOME, and Ipos is very, very interesting. |
| setekh12-02-07, 12:16 PM | Not much great about a guy who gets bullied by balors. Well... He looks kinda cool. And to be honest, I think he fills that niche that none of the other Demon lords wanted. slime. Woohoo. |
| Mith_The_Godling12-14-07, 02:30 AM | 1: Demogorgon 2: Obox-Ob 3: Dagon 4: Orcus For me, Demogorgon has always been the creature that has always stuck out to me, ever since I first saw him in BG2. I mean, it's one thing to fight a powerful demon, it's another thing to watch a Demon Prince tear apart your entire party, and apparently still be able to keep up with you, despite the fact that your supposed to be moving so fast, that everything else seems still (that would explain why he manages to kill tanks so fast...). Not to mention he invented the Death Knights. Death Knights people! He's fought Helm, and he's still the Prince of Demons. I like Obox-Ob, pretty much for the reason as he was supposedly the original Demon Prince, died, but managed to survive through his aspect. He's gotta be a pretty big threat given just how old he is. Dagon...what isn't there to like. He's like that old creepy sage...except a thousand times more powerful. I mean, his very presence speaks of eons worth of existence and knowledge...well...assuming you haven't gone insane at that point. Orcus is just awsome simply because he won't stay dead. I mean, he even managed to use the Last Word to kill a deity. Oh, and as for the Lord of Slime, it should be mentioned that his FCI stats are apparently his aspect stats. He's likely around CR: 29. Or at least he is in my book. Still a wimp though.;) |
| michel andre12-14-07, 10:37 AM | Am I the only one who likes the Demon Queen of Fungi? :( |
| GuyrtheadamantineOne12-14-07, 11:07 AM | Graazt..., and Malcanthet. I'm a pervert.:P |
| Kihon12-14-07, 01:17 PM | 1. Pale Night 2. Graz'zt 3. Orcus 4. Lolth - if she counts still as a 'Demon Lord' |
| Kain_Darkwind12-15-07, 12:16 AM | Graazt..., and Malcanthet. I'm a pervert.:P Two good looking demon princes is perverted? I think Juiblex and Fraz'Urb'lu for the same reasons would be perverted. |
| Phae12-15-07, 12:54 AM | Grazzt |
| Ardashir12-15-07, 10:17 AM | "She fell out of fashion a long, long, long time ago. There comes a point when leaving things to the imagination just makes it obvious that you've got no self confidence and/or you're trying to hide a blemish or a really bad dye job or something." http://arcanofox.foxpaws.net/shemmywink.gif You tell 'em, Shemmy. I'll take a pretty arcanaloth over some wrinkled old obyrith any day! ;) |
| Asra12-16-07, 10:42 PM | Am I the only one who likes the Demon Queen of Fungi? :( I like Zuggtmoy, especially after reading her Demonomicon article! So what if her thralls can't REALLY be druids unless you house rule it, and the fluff didn't match? She still had some pretty great looking cultists, and they sacrificed their victims in style. Besides, you can't beat fungus! I also liked Obox-Ob, since his aspect was capable of maintaining the Demon Prince Status, and his layer seems like a pretty interesting place. Yay for Obyrinths! I also liked Dagon, Grazzt, and Lynknab. Also, I don't care what anyone says, Juiblex may not be strong, smart, or charismatic... But he has inner beauty! I'm not going to look for it, but I'm sure he has it! I mean, hes all green and squishy! How can anything squishy be all bad? Not in a good way, but in a bad "bad" way. Bad at being a demon prince would not be what I am implying! |
