| jaaron08-23-07, 01:07 AM | In a few sessions the players in my campaign will probably come across a forsaken god (worship of this deity was banned long ago). The god is still around and there's about equal chance that the players will try to either help out this being, or finish him off. Should they attempt to engage the god, I'd like to come up with some stats for him. I could pull something together myself, but if anyone knows of rules or suggestions for weakened/forsaken gods, I'd love to look them over. |
| Dazzer08-23-07, 02:07 AM | I would, if you know how to do this. Build the God, as he was. Then subtract powers and abilities from that. He'd have at LEAST Divine Rank 0 (minimum) This gives him: Immortality, and Maximum hitpoints per hit-die (at every level). As you go up in divine ranks, he becomes more and more unbeatable. To the point where normal mortals shouldn't even consider thinking hostile thoughts. I would imagine; that if you built him fully (perhaps using a powerful creature as your base subject). You could make an interesting encounter. For example: Horned Devil - Wizard 3/Cleric 3/Mystic Theurge 10 Divine Rank 0 (Max hitpoints/immortal) Add Spell-likes 1/day: Dictum, Blasphemy Add Spell-Like: Miracle (1/week) If it already has these. They become at will instead. If he has them at will, they gain ability focus (+2 DC). Change Physical description and backstory (it wasn't really a horned devil, ever....it was always a god...you are just using out-of-game stats because it fits) If you want a UNIQUE entity, not based on any creature. Use the standard God-Building System 20 HD outsider (d8, full base, 8+int skills, all good saves) 20-40 levels in various classes (20 for a weak god, 40 for a strong god) Example Kord: 20HD outsider, 20 levels barbarian, 20 levels fighter (strong god). The benefits of DvR 0 are: -> max hp per HD -> immortality -> increased base speed -> natural AC bonus of +13 -> deflection AC bonus equal to your charisma bonus -> natural attacks bypass DR as epic weapons and weapons of your alignment -> manufactured weapons bypass DR as weapons of your alignment -> DR 10/epic -> Immunity: transmutation, Energy Drain, Ability Drain, Ability Damage, Mind-Affecting Effects -> fire resistance 5 -> SR 32 |
