Yah, not a terribly descriptive title, I know. But allow me to summarize what I hope we (the boards) can accomplish.

FIRSTLY, back when Fiendish Codex 2 came out, there was some call right here, on these boards, for somethign along the lines of a Fiendish Codex 3 for the Yugoloths. We pulled for it, discussed it, and wondered if it would be done.

THEN came news of 4e. at this point, the planes might have even come back with renewed fervor. Who was to say? It was new, a shift in flavor and design.

BUT 4e has come to herald something. Whether we like it or not, in D&D core, the Great Wheel is as dead as THAC0 come the next edition, and in these new planes it seems that there's no room for Neutral Evil fiends anymore. The Yugoloths have become demons, and that would seem to be the end.

HOWEVER, while we may not get an official text on the Yugoloths, I thought about it, and realized that there's probably more than enough knowledge in the people who post here to create something like a FC3, only as a boards project... That means a DM's Dark on how they work and what they act like, as well as possibly: New Yugoloths (or stats for ones never statted in 3.X), aspects of their "Lords" (The Onioloth, General of Gehenna, Baern?), and tools for mortals dealing with or against them.

THIS would be an ambitious project... the sort of thing that I fully admit rarely gets off the ground and less often gets finished: the boards archives are full of examples of things on this scale that faded into obscurity... but there are some that succeeded. d20 Video Games finished a d20 system for The Legend of Zelda, and Magic-side board members have been able to work together to create an entire set... no small feat! I think that, slowly at least, it could be done.

I ADMIT that I'm not the best person to provide the info... but I can try to keep track of it: hold a Table of Contents with links to relevant posts (that is, ones with info rather than discussion). Probably, people like me should also submit sometimes, even if the submission doesn't fit: it can be improved in that case.

Well, I guess that's the pitch. so now, the Table of contents
