The spirit wall has an offensive side which can be faced one way. Anyone coming within 60 ft of that side needs to succeed on a will save or become frightened for 1d4 rounds. Now when someone is frightened but cannot flee he cowers. Now what if he is required to cower within 60 ft of the wall, how often does he need to make a save? Every round? Every time the fear effect runs out or only once when he enters the effect? 2. This wall can be placed in two ways. one way is the 10 ft square/level and the other is a 1ft. radius per level hemisphere. When you use the first method does the wall have to be placed in a straight line? |

This might very well result in a lot of cowering panicked creatures in a short time if there's no way the creatures can escape the wall. 2) Since the spell is not shapeable, the 10-foot squares that the wall occupy must be in a straight line. |

That will at least limit the way its deployed. During the last encounter the wall surrounded a phalanx of 8 soldiers and a spellcaster. His character's got spell focus & greater spell focus and another feat that boosts the DC's of his illusions. To make a long story short they all failed their saves and wound up cowering within the enclosed space for the duration. With the second awnser I'll be able to curtail such things since he will only be able to create a 10' dome. If I scatter the opposition a little he won't be able to incapacitate as many people with it. |
