Emperortopaz 04-21-07, 06:05 PM	I've heard many of the bad things about the spell "polymorph", but I haven't seen two things I want to know about baleful polymorph. 1) Elf druid casts Baleful polymorph on orc, trying to turn it into a cat. It fails both saves. Afterwards, she decides to use animal shapes to turn it into a roc (she is above level 18). Then, she tries to tame it as an animal companion. I allowed it, but now I am thinking that it would not be possible (not due to the fact that rocs don't have an entry, because it is a polymorphed creature). Which type of ruling should i use? 2) If I allow the above, how does baleful polymorph work if said roc enters an antimagic field? Does baleful polymorph get dispelled (which I think it does), or after the casting of baleful polymorph is there no more magic to the creature (due to it being instantaneous)? 3) If the polymorphed beast can be an animal companion, and is affected by an antimagic field, would that mean that a druid can have a humanoid-animal companion?(it would have animal intellegence):D This has been bothering me for a few weeks now...Any answers will be very thanked.:)
Marcus Majarra 04-22-07, 12:37 AM	The simple solution is not to allow for polymorphed creatures to become companions. Baleful polymorph is not an instantaneous spell; it's a permanent spell, making it vulnerable to any effect that dispels magic. Forget this venue altogether.
