Hello,

I have a little question related to being helpless. By the RAW:
A helpless character is paralyzed, held, bound, sleeping, unconscious, or otherwise completely at an opponent’s mercy. A helpless target is treated as having a Dexterity of 0 (-5 modifier). Melee attacks against a helpless target get a +4 bonus (equivalent to attacking a prone target). Ranged attacks gets no special bonus against helpless targets. Rogues can sneak attack helpless targets

Suppose we have the following example: a fighter with a dexterity modifier of +3 and an armor that gives a +3 bonus to AC. So, the total AC of the fighter is 16. Suppose now he is paralyzed, will its AC drop to 8 (instead of having a +3 bonus to AC, we have a malus of -5) ? And the attacker will also have a +4 attack bonus in melee. Am I right ?

Thanks
