A person in darkness without blindfighting does not get dex bonus to AC, and because they are effectively blind does this mean they also get the -2 to AC? Also if an attacker then had that spell cast that allows them to see in magical darkness do they get the attack bonus for being 'invisible' against the effectively blind target i.e. +2 to attack. |

Lets say we have two combatants in magical darkness. If you are talking about darkness caused by the spell darkness, the spell only provides concealment equivalent to shadowy illumination, it does not make total darkness. A person in darkness without blindfighting does not get dex bonus to AC, and because they are effectively blind does this mean they also get the -2 to AC? If you were in total darkness, such as caused by the spell blacklight. Then the creature is effectively blinded and yes, they take a -2 penalty to AC Also if an attacker then had that spell cast that allows them to see in magical darkness do they get the attack bonus for being 'invisible' against the effectively blind target i.e. +2 to attack.Yes, you are visually undetectable by the defender. |
