| OhMaahi05-19-07, 03:17 AM | Hello, I have some trouble with the experience calculation. To day my players will do the diseased adventure +the crossroads from expidition to castle ravenloft. At the end they have 33850 xp. Then I split it with 5(thats is how many players I have) and each player receives 6770 xp. That takes them right to level 8. Basically it means that my players level up two games we play. I have the feeling it is going a little to fast. Or is it normal that PC's level so fast? Thank you for your time, ~*Nik |
| MarkB05-19-07, 05:52 AM | It is normal in 3.5 to level around once every 2-3 four-hour sessions, depending heavily upon number and nature of encounters. Without specific information on the number of creatures your party faced, each creature's CR, and the party's number and levels, it's hard to tell whether you are calculating the experience correctly. |
| Borris05-19-07, 07:27 AM | A party of 4 characters should level-up after 12 to 13 encounters of its level's challenge rating. For a party of 5 characters, each gains a little less XP, so it should take between 15 and 16 encounters. Check how many encounters you party faced. If those encounters are at the same level or very close to the party's level, the numbers should ressemble those I give above. If not, chances are you made some sort of error while calculating XP. |
