Can an awakened animal take PC classes? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I am well aware of Rule 0, but what about the rules?

I can't think of a reason why you couldn't level as normal.

10-02-07, 11:10 AM An awakened animal can take class levels, just like anything else. The only problem is that there hasn't really even been a clear LA set for awakened animals, and it's probably not possible to make one single LA for the whole thing anyway. So you'll have to figure out an appropriate LA on the fly for each awakened animal type that you want to use for characters.

But if you don't mind doing that, then there shouldn't be any problem.

10-02-07, 03:48 PM There is a race in the dragon compendium called tibbit. It is a race of people who can turn in to house cats. In humanoid form they resemble Halflings. I had one as a psion and almost never had him turn in to humanoid form.
