In my book i read that if i have only a partial action, like in amush round or when i am at 0 HP i can charge but i can only move up to my normal speed, although my double speed.
I would know if could ready an action with a charge action.

Strictly speaking, I don't think you're able to ready a charge.

-A charge is defined as a full round action.
-A ready allows you to ready a standard, move or free action.

So going strictly by those rules, you cannot ready a charge. There is, as you mentioned, a special clause for charging when you're restricted to a standard or move action on your turn, but you are not restricted when readying, you are specifically readying an action of a given type.

Unless this is in a FAQ somewhere, I'd say it would have to be a houserule to allow it.

My 2 cents.

Briefly: Yes.

The relevant text on limited charging:
If you are able to take only a standard action or a move action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed). You can’t use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action or move action on your turn.

Interpretations will vary. In 3.0 there was a Partial Charge action that allowed you to ready a modified charge that consisted of a single move + attack action.

As I believe that the action constraint of Readying a Standard Action counts towards the limitation above, I rule that you may ready a charge up to a single move.

The argument goes as follows:
"But you can't use a limited charge when your whole action is available! It says!"
"I'm voluntarily restricting myself to a single standard action by readying said action. Now I am restricted to taking only a standard or move action."

The only problem with Partial Charging and readying was that it pretty much let you get around the "you can only charge in a straight line, through clear terrain." What you could simply do was take your move action and position yourself however you want to 10 feet of the enemy, and then ready an action that triggers immediately to charge.

That said, I would certainly house rule it so that if you do not take a move action or a 5-foot step, then you can ready a charge at someone or something. This is equivalent to saying that you've restricted yourself to partial actions that round.

Yes you can on surprise round and the charge is consider a standard action only at this time. That is when you can only take a move or standard action in the round. PHB page141 under entry # 5.

Yes you can on surprise round and the charge is consider a standard action only at this time.Nope. Readying a charge is not allowed. This has actually been discussed at length in several long threads (links given on request).

It is a glitch in the rules (and not the writer's intent) that could lead one to believe that readying a charge is possible if you are slowed, staggered, disabled, a zombie, etc. However, allowing such leads to all sorts of wierdness.

Sorry but I'm afraid your wrong It's in the SRD to but I don't know the link. Under the full round action table it says that charge is considered a standard action on rounds where you can only take one action.

Ex: If your speed is 30' and it's a surprise round you can ready a charge to move up to 30' and attack.

This is special thing and you can not do it any other time. Because it is a full round action then. Just to be clear I'm not saying charge is a standard action, only that it counts as one on surprise rounds.

I'm the one that (laboriously) explained that to you in the first place! (see this thread (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=820923))

Anyone wishing to put any stock in Ace's credibility should read that thread. It's amusing. Once again, he's driving blind (this time in the other direction). Sorry if I come off as easily irritated here, but I've had to deal with him before, and it's truly vexing.

So that I can get this stright. I first said it was not allowed. Then you convince me that it was allowed so that when I see someone else with the same problem and post what I found out from you and now you post that I'm wrong again.

As mentioned above, by strict RAW it is technically allowed, but only if you are limited to partial actions to begin with: on the surprise round, you are slowed, you are a zombie, etc.. This is a glitch, but it's there.

As mentioned above, this would effectively make charging a standard action for all purposes, and one could avoid most of the restrictions associated with charging. This is a significant change to the rules, and would have some balance issue.

Also note: even just readying a move action (which is currently allowed) has been shown to create difficulties/oddities for DM's.

You still make no sense. Are you arguing that the charge is still technically a full-round action even in cases where it can be done with a standard action? The following seems to imply that the charge becomes a standard action in such cases:
"If you are able to take only a standard action or a move action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed)."

(in fact, I'm not sure how to interpret that otherwise).

Then there is the previously mentioned footnote (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/actionsInCombat.htm#fullRoundActions) which says:
"May be taken as a standard action if you are limited to taking only a single action in a round."

That certainly seems unambiguous. What exactly are you arguing?

These are your's so which is it? Yes or no and quit blaming me because you can't make up your mind If it counts or doesn't count. Because I get tired of this game of yours.

Then you convince me that it was allowed so that when I see someone else with the same problem and post what I found out from you and now you post that I'm wrong again. To clarify: I wasn't trying to convince you that it should be allowed, I was merely trying to provide you with information on how someone might arrive at that conclusion. You completely missed what I was trying to tell you (and will likely continue to do so <sigh>). The fact that it blew up into a big deal on what RAW actually said should not be blamed on me.

To reiterate:
There is indeed a glitch in the rules that could lead one to believe that readying a charge is possible if you are slowed, staggered, disabled, a zombie, etc. This is not the writer's intent and should not be allowed. This has been conclusively discussed in the threads I provided.

So to be clear. You fought with me for almost a page because you believed the same thing that I did but i could not find in the book so that was uncalled for.

Anyway if it was a mistake then would you please post the faq, Errata, or SRD entry where WotC says that. Because I don't want to fight with anyone again on this.

Note: I don't use this rule. I set down with my group after we fought and we talked about it and decided that the surprise round was supposed to limit you to ether attack or move. That a charge is still 2 act. You move and then attack and that that would defeat the purpose of the surprise round. That we as a group would house rule it and say that you can't.

That said the rules say you can so you can judge for your self.
