There are many ways to have fists bigger than your fists normally are. Take kensai and sizing, or stuff like that.

Now, let us have a throwable fist. Fun, no?

Then we get ranged pin.

Can, Rules People, you grapple with that fist? Technically a ranged weapon, with the throwing enhancement. And, if so, is it Colossal?

Technically, you're inventing a new weapon. There are no existing rules covering this, so any answer you come up with is just as valid as any one we do.

You might attempt to add the throwing property (DMG) via kensai or the artificer's weapon augmentation infusions, but you'd have to do some legwork to figure out whether only working on "melee weapons" ought include the unarmed strike in question.

There is also a 1st-level cleric/sor/wiz spell in Spell Compendium called blood wind that is cast as a swift action and lets the recipient's natural weapons be used as thrown weapons for a round when full attacking.

Ranged pin would probably work with the first - the second I'm not so sure on, because the ability to treat it as a thrown weapon is temporary, and the intent is probably more like air-punches instead of rocket fists.

Either way is not going to get you grapple. Grapple is an attack you make, not that a weapon makes, with a few rare exceptions like catch-poles. You might try sifting through magic item lists to see if there is a weapon property that lets you start a grapple with it.

Then, add morphing to it and make it a catch-pole. Does it still count as colossal in that state? Do you have proficiency with it?

How do you have a throwable fist?

It's 3rd party; but, there is a feat in Untapped Potential that lets you throw a punch as a ranged weapon. It's called Psychokinetic Fist (I think), and deals US damage with Charisma mod instead of Strength at a range of 100 + 10 per 2 levels or something like that.
