Q_ A psionic energy ray - fire does 1d6+1 damage at the cost of 1 power point. You can augment it by spending up to your manifester level in additional power points. The psion was lvl 10, so spent another 9 pts = 10d6+10 fire damage. Now the power requires a ranged touch attack to hit. It critical. Is the damage now 20d6+20? (using the premise that spells that require an attack roll have a 20/x2 threat range). A- ??? Anyone? |
| DreamingWolfman12-21-07, 11:43 AM | Okay, I think I found a partial answer. The spell is treated like a weapon and does x2 damage on a critical. Now does the multiplier affect only the initial un-augmented damage, or the full augmented damage? So is it 1d6+1 x 2 = 2d6+2? OR 10d6+10 x 2 = 20d6 +20? |

Landing a critical with that Energy Ray will deal 20d6+20, just as it would for a spellcaster throwing an identical spell. |
