| PenderGrass12-11-07, 12:48 AM | As per RAW? Each trap has a disable device DC. The person attempting rolls a d20, adds their modifiers for disable device and gets a total. The DM compares that total to the traps DC. If the total roll is equal or above the DC, the trap is disabled. If the total is below the DC the trap is not disabled. The SRD has a coherent run-down and the PHB has a complete (and official) description of the skill. :dragon: ***** |

It also allows for the DM to apply on-the-fly modifiers if the players come up with some interesting ways to disable the trap. If you want to disable a step-plate, a spike is wedged in, disable some arrow shooting holes, wedge in some sticks or something. |

Some good ones-Entrapment, Ocean's Elven-Twelve-and Thirteen, All the Indiana Jones ones, and most James Bond ones. What is done to disable a trap depends on the type. A lot of traps have a taunt wire from the object(like a door) that triggers the trap...a rouge would cut that wire and glue it in place so the object can be moved. A pressure trap can be defeated by keeping the same amount of weight on the trap. For shooting darts..you need simply find and plug the hole it will come out of. BT |
