DR can stop a weapon from causing bleeding is doesn't overcome DR (same as poison) but once it does, it does. |
| StevenO08-12-07, 07:28 PM | Seconded. If the DR prevents all the damage the Bleeding will not start but if the damage does get by the DR the bleeding will start as normal. |
| Drakken267208-12-07, 08:48 PM | I agree also, basis of answer is set in the effect that if you have DR you would never die by bleeding out from being negative hit points. However this brings up a topic i was about to Post about. Does DR negate non-lethal damage. I can't find any rules about this. Using logic (I know, I know) But a dagger d4 dmg could never get through a DR/5 but a sap d6 dmg could infact do dmg albit only 1 but could in fact affect the individual. anyway input or /pointing (right direction) would be great |
| StevenO08-12-07, 09:28 PM | Damage Reduction would reduce nonlethal damage as normal. There is no reason for it to completely prevent it as it is still "damage" just not quite so deadly. If DR "prevented" non-lethal damage that would make anything with Reneration (damage converted to non-lethal) and DR a LOT stronger. |
| Pegasos98908-13-07, 03:39 AM | DR prevents a certain amount of damage from weapon attacks. Damage reduction: "A creature with this special quality ignores damage from most weapons and natural attacks." Barbarian damage reduction: "Subtract 1 from the damage the barbarian takes each time he is dealt damage from a weapon or a natural attack." It doesn't stop damage from bleeding, cold, forced march, etc. and by the rules, it also doesn't stop damage from falling. I have personally houseruled it to affect falling damage too. |
