11-07-07, 02:15 PM Ok, so I've read through the dragon section of the Monster Manual a few times, and there's something that's still confusing to me. When making a full attack, how many attacks does a dragon get to make? Does it get to make one attack with each of its "weapons", i.e., breath, bite, claw, wings, tail, etc. Or does it just get however many attacks its BAB allows for, and it can spread those attacks out amounst its "weapons" any way it wants?

In other words, let's assume I have a mature adult (Huge) black dragon making a full attack. What would all of its attacks be and what would the attack bonus be for each attack?

11-07-07, 02:17 PM It can attack once with each of its natural weapons as a full attack action. Despite the word 'weapon' in the name, the Breath Weapon is not a natural weapon and is its own standard action.

11-07-07, 02:23 PM So long as the dragon is on the ground, it gets one attack with each natural weapon (or one breath weapon attack and a move action, grounded or otherwise). If the dragon is in the air, and assuming it can hover, it gets one natural attack with each natural weapon other than wing buffets.

+28 is the default attack bonus (+22 from BAB, +8 from Str, -2 from size). As a Huge sized dragon (color/type does not matter), it would get 1 bite, 2 claws, 2 wings, and 1 tail slap. Without any feats that adjust these attack bonuses, I believe they would go as follows:
+28 bite (2d8+8)
+23/+23 claws (2d6+4)
+23/+23 wings (1d8+4)
+23 tail slap (2d6+12)

Things like Multiattack would adjust those attack bonuses, of course.

11-08-07, 03:21 PM Quickin breath allows you take use breath weapon as a free action so you could get a breath weapon attack (with that feat) and still get the other attacks as a full attack action.
