| mastercloud66601-08-08, 01:27 AM | Ok my new game is starting tomorrow and I have a question about something the party rogue plans on doing. The rogue has taken two-weapon fighting and plans on supporting the groups psychic warrior, meaning always trying to flank whoever the psychic warrior is fighting. And while flanking the rogue gets to add sneak attack damage to successful attacks, does this mean that each successful attack made gets the sneak attack damage boost or just one boost per round? |
| Enmarnacu01-08-08, 01:31 AM | I do believe the sneak attack damage applies to all applicable attacks. I've never seen anything to the contrary. |
| mastercloud66601-08-08, 01:40 AM | I only ask because one of the other players said the rogue could only get one sneak attack per round. I've never seen it anywhere either but I thought I would ask just to make sure I did not overlook it. |
| Lord_Varos01-08-08, 01:46 AM | Yes, every single attack to which the flanking bonus would be added to attack deals sneak attack damage. |

If you're looking for a rules source, just look at page 42 of the Rules Compendium. |

The only time that it would be limited would be if a rogue jumped out of hiding and attacked, catching them flatfooted. Then it would only apply to the first attack, since the rogue is seen after the first, the foe is no longer flatfooted, and conditions for sneak attack are no longer met. It is likely that rule is the one your other player is referencing, which does not apply in the situation of flanking. |

Apparently you could only apply it to one attack at a time, though it had the much larger benefit of a multiplier on your damage. |
| goawayugh01-08-08, 02:01 PM | Sneak Attack damage applies to ANY elegible attack. |
| sblaxman01-08-08, 03:40 PM | In 2E, sneak attack (backstab) was applied only to the first attack if you had more than one attack per round... once you attacked, the enemy was aware of you and could defend normally In 3E, sneak attack is applied to ALL attacks made in a round. |

As long as the target is flatfooted or flanked it can be hit with sneak attackt damage. A combatant is flaatfoot until he acted for the first time in Combat. If a Rogue surprises his target, he can get in a single attack with sneak attackt damage. If the rogues Initiative is higher than his targets, he can do a fullattack on him. All attacks add sneack attack because the target has not jet acked. |
