| TheKingOfAmn08-06-07, 12:15 PM | In the Fiend Folio, there are grafts of wings that allow the wearer to fly at "twice the normal land speed." What does "normal land speed" mean? I assume the +10 enhancement bonus from Boots of Springing and Striding would not apply, but what about the speed increases from the Monk class? |

| Marcus Majarra08-06-07, 01:09 PM | The normal land speed for a creature is its default land speed, without adjustments. Thus, a creature with a natural land speed of 30 feet would have a fly speed of 60 feet with that graft. This said, any bonuses to speed applicable to the fly speed still apply. For example, the monk's unarmored speed bonus applies to all his speed movements. Thus, a 6th-level monk, with a base land speed of 30 feet, would have a fly speed of 80 feet with that graft (30 x 2 + 20). |
