| Lord_Bonez07-30-07, 06:42 PM | I am rather new tho these boards so forgive me if this has been posted previously. I didnt have the time to search it out. Ok lets say u have a 20th level rogue and a level 20 fighter are flanking a Pit Fiend. I understand about the attack bonus and such involved with flanking but lets say its the rogues turn he makes a full attack on the Pit Fiend with a 15/10/5 plus misc. bonuses. so does that mean that he can make 3 sneak attacks at a bonus of 15/10/5? Because at level 20 each of those sneak attacks deals 10d6 bonus damage if he hits with the first 2 that pit fiend is gonna be in tough shape after this round is over... I am sorry for grammar and spelling errors I am in a hurry to get some answers and I have to clean the house b4 my wife gets home. |
| Shaggy_Shaggs07-30-07, 06:47 PM | Every attack that qualifies to be a sneak attack is a sneak attack. The rogue in question gets 3 sneak attacks assuming all 3 attacks connect, which is unlikely. Even if they do connect, they're not actually likely to do very much damage. 10d6 averages out to 35 damage, take the pit fiend's damage reduction into account and the rogue will only be getting 20 + the weapon's damage with each successful strike. |
| KoreKore07-30-07, 06:48 PM | yes he would get the 10d6 on each attack as long as he is using a meele weapon and is in flanking. although he does still need to hit and the pit feind does still have his DR. But yeah if the pit feind ended up flanked with teleport withought error at will then he deserves to get the smack down. |
| darkneolink07-30-07, 06:49 PM | yes he gets all the SA... but then he would be to close to the fiend and might be mauled to death before he gets to repeat the feat |
| Lord_Bonez07-30-07, 06:58 PM | Thank you all very much for clearing up that simple fact for me I thought it did but I was unwilling to let myself believe it if I didnt hear it from someone else to be sure. That is a nice little ability for an evil rogue/sorcerer guild master who has taken a notice to one of the rogues in my party not paying the guild for her takes in their city. |
