| Trei02-28-08, 09:49 AM | Several of my players swear that using two hands on a one-handed weapon allows him to add an additional 50% to damage. I have been resisting this, as I can't find such a rule anywhere in 3.5, but they seem determined. Is there such a thing? And if so, where can I find the exact rule? |
| Kouk02-28-08, 10:19 AM | Using a weapon with two hands adds 1 and a half times (or, +50%) your STRENGTH bonus, not weapon damage. Here's a quote from the SRD from the Combat chapter (page 134, under Damage): Wielding a Weapon Two-Handed When you deal damage with a weapon that you are wielding two-handed, you add 1½ times your Strength bonus. However, you don’t get this higher Strength bonus when using a light weapon with two hands. |

Umm... well one handed in D&D terms. You can't light weapons to gain this bonus. Rapiers are also explicitly excluded from this. |
