Your maximum hitpoints increase by the difference in your constitution modifier multiplied by your number of hit dice. Example: If you increase your con from 12 (modifier of +1) to 16 (modifier of +3) and you had 8 hit dice (the size of those hit dice doesn't matter) your maximum hit points increase by (3-1)*8 = 16 hit points. For intelligence do you gain extra skill points for wearing a headband of intellect If you increase your intelligence you do not retroactively gain skill points. If the increase or enhancement is permanent, you do gain additional skillpoints when you increase in levels. Non-permanent enhancements, such as the Headband of Intellect (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/magicItems/wondrousItems.htm#headbandofIntellect), do not increase your skill points, either retroactively or going forward. Headband of Intellect This device is a light cord with a small gem set so that it rests upon the forehead of the wearer. The headband adds to the wearer’s Intelligence score in the form of an enhancement bonus of +2, +4, or +6. This enhancement bonus does not earn the wearer extra skill points when a new level is attained; use the unenhanced Intelligence bonus to determine skill points. what about languages? Your INT mod (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/theBasics.htm#intelligenceInt)only matters for the number of starting languages. After first level, increasing your INT does not automatically gain you more languages. You must purchase them with skill points (Speak Languages (http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/speakLanguage.htm)). |
