Is a Trample an AoE Attack? [Archive] - Wizards Community

I as getting the impression from some other posts I've seen that Trample is an Area of Effect attack, but when it came up the other night I counldn't find that indicated anywhere.

Specific instance is trampling Druid vs swarms and does it benefit from the x1.5 damage bonus.

I would say that it is AoE, because it can affect many enemies at once, and affects area on which the creature moves. You should remember, that fine swarms are immune to weapon damage, and trample deals damage like slam (as far as I remember), which is natural weapon, so no trample vs. things too small to attack.
