Since spell-like abilities are not actually spells, a warlock cannot benefit from the Spell Focus feat. He can, however, benefit from the Ability Focus feat (see page 303 of the Monster Manual), as well as from feats that emulate metamagic effects for spell-like abilities, such as Quicken Spell-Like Ability and Empower Spell-Like Ability (see pages 303 and 304 of the Monster Manual).

The warlock gains no benefit from metamagic feats. Additionally:

A warlock cannot qualify for prestige classes with spellcasting level requirements, as he never actually learns to cast spells. However, prestige classes with caster level requirements, such as the acolyte of the skin, are well suited to the warlock. A warlock's caster level for his invocations fulfills this requirements.

Yes, the warlock qualifies for the metamagic feats if he meets the prerequisite caster level, but he still gains no benefit from them.

04-24-07, 12:54 AM Yes, a warlock's level counts as his arcane caster level. It's also noteworthy to point out that metamagic feats do not have caster level requirements. You're probably thinking of item creation feats, which do. The warlock can actually benefit from these feats from level 12 on, due to the Imbue Item ability.

Only SRD metamagic feats do not have caster level requirements. Check other sources and some of them do.

Example:
Black Lore of Moil (from Complete Arcane)
Requires: Spell Focus (necromancy), caster level 7th.
