Great Ally makes it so that when you and an ally are flanking you both get +4 instead of +2.

Vexing Flanker does the same thing but only for you (instead of +2 you get +4)

So if I took both of these do they stack? Or since they do the same thing would I take the higher bonus, and therefore only one of them?

Unless either ability indicates that your flanking bonus is increased by two (as opposed to being replaced by 4), you'll only get +4.

Marcus is correct. However, its entirely reasonable imo to house-rule otherwise, I certainly do without any adverse effect. If someone wants to specialize in relying on another person, let 'em.

You can always flank by yourself... as a Hexblade with a shadow companion (4th-level variant class feature). Kenku Hexblade/Rogue flanking specialist. Not a bad deal.

I think versatile flanker will let you flank with your mount.:)
