Im putting together a kobold dragon shaman. The concept behind this character is that he is very weak but nimble, and naive but personable. He has also been unintentionally led to believe he was the best fighter in his colony, so hes in for a rude awakening when he goes out adventuring. Being that kobolds are primarily miners, he was going to TWF with two light picks+weapon finesse. Problem is, a light pick for some reason is billed as a martial weapon. Now, I could always just take a level of fighter at 1st level to get the necessary weapon proficiency, but would it not be reasonable to allow kobolds as a race to have proficiency with weapon group(picks) since they spend all day in their mines using them? |

Kobolds seem to be big on using spears rather than picks when getting into combat, too. Also, from the standpoint of combat viability, dual-wielding with a dragon shaman is generally a bad idea. They don't have the base attack bonus or class features to support it. |

I do see your point about the pick weapons though. |
