Lycanthropes as PCs vs NPCs [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-30-07, 07:28 PM The Monster Manual says that lycanthropes increase physical ability scores by (base animal's score - 10). But under Lycanthropes as Characters, it says physical ability scores are increased by the base animal's modifier (effectively half of base animal's score - 10).

...why?

10-30-07, 09:02 PM I'd say this is a terminology glitch. The "modifier" they're referring to is the racial ability bonus, which of course equals "ability score minus ten/eleven".
