| DivineDragoonXD07-11-07, 01:23 PM | When I first played Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 I thought I read somewhere in the PHB or DMG that you could give up 1/3 of your starting gold or something like that to gain a +1 ability bonus, I am playing in anew campiagn and that thought just dawned on me. Am I right or just going crazy? |
| Puca07-11-07, 01:50 PM | I think insane. :) |
| Magnus02907-11-07, 02:40 PM | My vote is on insane as well |
| Kouk07-11-07, 04:31 PM | Never heard of such a thing. If you think about it, who wouldn't take that? 25 gold for a permanent +1 ability score? Seriously, there is no comparison of such a paltry amount of money to an ability score increase. |
| Phrennzy07-12-07, 10:26 AM | You are correct. You are insane. |
| Sildatorak07-12-07, 02:04 PM | I don't think you are insane. Just very, very wrong. |
| PenderGrass07-12-07, 02:10 PM | "Maybe"? Maybe??? Aren't you a DM? All DMs are frakking off their looney rockers. All of them. :dragon: **** |

Am I right or just going crazy? Depends on the level. a Level 10 Wizard could give up 1/3rd money for a scroll of wish (cost 28 k) to gain +1 inherent bonus. Heck, he might as well get 3 (inherent bonuses don't stack unless you use them right after each other). But not anything else. I liked the 3.0 Aristocrat though: double starting money (doesn't specify which level so double each level's money, w00t). 3.5 Aristo only had more 1st level. |
| TwiddleStootch07-12-07, 02:24 PM | Ah, come on now people. Al that needs to be said is: Nope, there is no official rule like that. It must have either been a Houserule or a third party rule/variant. |
| Goat Face07-12-07, 02:55 PM | "Yes sir, very much so sir. Obviously insane." -Willard |
