| Fitz1001911-19-07, 03:30 PM | If a character were attacked by 6 venomous creatures (say, 6 spiders all of the same kind), and each creature scores a hit, the character would get 6 Fort saves, one for each successful attack. If he failed more than one save, would the ability damage from the multiple doses of poison stack? |
| Sinis11-19-07, 03:33 PM | Each fortitude save is made separately, and each set of ability damage is handled separately. The penalties would stack. I'm not really sure, mind you. This is what I think is the case. |
| Phrennzy11-19-07, 04:28 PM | Each attack is saved against seperately. The damage is cumulative - it does stack. Keep in mind that the guy in the example is going to have to make saves again for each one he missed, once a minute has gone by. Multiple poisonous creatures can be horrible to face. |
| Balseraph11-19-07, 05:04 PM | I agree with all of the above. Multiple poisons against your toughest PC can either slowly bring him down by forcing rolls or (and this is my favorite) make the playerfeel how heroic his character is by shrugging off poison after toxin after disease and still getting the job done! |
| weasel011-19-07, 07:20 PM | Bonuses are good and are hard to stack. Penalties(and Damage) are bad and almost always stack(if not just always). Rules of thumb. |
| Finarin Panjoro11-19-07, 09:03 PM | Keep in mind that the guy in the example is going to have to make saves again for each one he missed, once a minute has gone by. Actually he's going to have to make saves again once a minute goes by for every poison attack that hit, even if he did make his initial save. Poison (Ex): Poison attacks deal initial damage, such as ability damage (see page 305) or some other effect, to the opponent on a failed Fortitude save. Unless otherwise noted, another saving throw is required 1 minute later (regardless of the first save’s result) to avoid secondary damage. bold mine. |
| Tedronai11-20-07, 01:09 AM | Also note that if that is Con damage the poisons are causing that this will affect his fortitude save modifier for any subsequent saves. Every time the character fails, further hits get more dangerous. |

| weasel011-21-07, 01:05 AM | Phrennzy's games just got a little less My Little Pony and entered GI JOE territory. |
