Alright, I just have a general confusion about Mystic Theurges. From what I interpreted, when you take your level in Mystic Theurge it counts as if both your arcane class AND divine class go up in level by 1 for purposes of spells per day. What about spells known?

I just want to know because there's a player of mine that based his character around the scholar-priest concept from Cadderly in The Cleric Quintet (although he's made a lot of changes to prevent a carbon-copy, I love this player. :D ). It'll help if I know what he's talking about, you know? :P

They also increase.

With both classes?

Yes.

Also, I think they've statted up Cadderly somewhere on the Wizards website (it might be gone/archived now). If I were to create him in 3.5, though, it'd be using the Cloistered Cleric variant in Unearthed Arcana.

Yes. In general, prestige classes that grant "+1 spellcasting level" or so forth are assumed to give an increase in class level with respect to spell slots, caster level, and spells known.

The only one that I know of where this is not true is Hierophant, which only gives effective caster level, but not extra spells known or spells per day.

I've heard that wizards don't get the 2 extra spells, since its a class feature, and all caster prestige state that they increase in spells per day/caster level, but nothing else. (Turn undead, Familiar)

I have heard this before too but disagree. Look in wizard's list of class abilities in the table or the text. It says familiar and a few feats. Thus, the 2 new spells known per level is not class ability but, well... spells known. And that increases.

I do agree that it could be a reasonable houserule not to give two spells known automatically per level in PrCs, as that gives wizards more reasons to not go PrCs right after 6th level. It is just a houserule though.

(EDIT: And all these spellcasting PrCs seem to say "and spells known, if applicable". One could ask "but when would it not be applicable then?" but I would say that they wanted to do a generic text fitting both divine and arcane classes and use the same in both)

The question was asked and answered in the 3.0 FAQ.I can’t find any information about how many spells prestige class spellcasters know. I am going on the presumption that those that gain bonus spells per day of their existing class (such as loremaster and spellsword) do not automatically add additional spells to their spellbook as they gain levels.

They do add spells to their lists. For example, a wizard/loremaster gains 2 spells for her spellbook when using a loremaster level to increase spellcasting. A sorcerer/loremaster would learn more spells as well. Adding spells to your spellbook or personal repertoire is part of spellcasting. This is a fundamental part of the games design; by default, a spellcasting character learns new spells when he or she goes up levels. If the PrC is not intended to increase spells known it would explicitly say so.
