Overland Travel [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-18-07, 09:07 AM OK, I don't have the DMG handy. Anyone have a quick answer to this?

How far can an average person travel overland in one day?

Assume normal pace, normal terrain, on foot.

Wouldn't hurt to know the same thing, for on horseback, too.

Average person - say a medium creature with 30ft speed (such as a human) - 24 miles

Horse - assuming a light load - 48 miles (light horse) 40 miles (heavy horse) 32 miles (pony)
